Damn I love this show so much...probably the only thing I watch on TV. Can't wait for the season to start...the teams seem really interesting this time around!
Diverse Cast Embarks on 'Amazing Race'
Show's 10th edition includes Muslim team, amputee
July 15 2006
PASADENA, Calif. -- The 10th edition of "The Amazing Race" will kick off with one of the most diverse groups of teams the show has ever had.
The Emmy-winning series, which moves to Sundays in the fall, will feature 12 teams this time, up from the usual complement of 11. Racers include the show's first-ever Muslim team -- a pair of Browns-loving best friends from Cleveland -- along with an Indian-American couple, an amputee (Sarah Reinertsen) who competes in triathlons and a father and his lesbian daughter.
And, yes, there are a couple of models, as well as a pair of Miss USA contestants.
"The range in this cast is remarkable," host Phil Keoghan told reporters Saturday at the Television Critics Association press tour. "We've never had such a broad spectrum of people."
The 12 teams will be put to the test right away, executive producers Bertram Van Munster and Jonathan Littman say. Instead of "easing in" to the competition by sending the teams to Europe or South America first, the teams will first head to China after starting in Seattle.
The racers will also travel to Mongolia, Kuwait, Vietnam and Madagascar. In all, the race will cover some 40,000 miles in 30 days.

They removed it from the Race for budget and logistic reasons. Having Phil filming at numerous locations AND reach the finish mat on time is extremely tricky. This season he just beat Eric and Jeremy to one of the pit stops. And there's been other cases in the past where he literally beat the other teams to the Pit Stop by a few minutes; he's known to be flying on the same flight as teams on a race leg.
If they re-introduce more Fast Forwards, then they may need more 36 hr pit stops to give Phil enough of a head start to film those segments. Because the Fast Forwards tend to be way off from the main race course.... like that Orangutan reserve in TAR4 which was 2 hr drive away from the main race course or that speed boat in TAR2.

Ha ha, until you mentioned it, I didn't even notice that they took it out !
What they should have is an Amazing race ALL-STAR edition of past favourites and winners. Maybe even a celebrity edition where the winner's money goes to a charity of choice.

I'll watch the first couple of shows just to get a feel for TAR 10. I've been getting a little disenchanted with the show lately. I've almost completely stopped watching since Rob and Amber were on. Then the family edition killed it for me. I saw a few episodes of TAR 9 just because of the Hippies, but even they got tired after a while.

I'm also getting sick of the various bunching points. I guess its their way to keep the competition close so it will keep viewers, but it seems like no matter how good a team is, they can never really build a lead. I know the family season turned alot of people away (that is the one season I did not watch after the 2nd episode), but the most recent season also brought some people back (at least from the people I know who used to watch). I guess we'll see how this one goes.

The first leg to China should be interesting, wonder if there will be any eating tasks like dogs, cats, or some exotic animal? That should give those with iron-like palates a heady lead.

They only did that from Seasons 2-4 and realized that it was not very practical. Especially when teams only go for the FF 2/3 of the time. Phil and his crew aren't living that much better than the contestants. He's mentioned how he's washed his hair at the side of the road with a bottle of water in one hand and a bottle of shampoo in the other.

People forget that since Season 1, the premise of the Amazing Race is to finish the final leg in first place. Who cares if you win a trip to Mexico or a new widescreen TV, they're just nice bonuses for finishing first on individual legs. Otherwise, all you need to do is stay alive in the race and position yourself for the last leg.

Yeah, product placements in TAR are getting more and more apparent, right down to the cars/SUVs they're driving. Not that it detracts too much from the action because the end-of-leg winners actually do earn something cool for coming in first. Aside from getting clues from AOL email, the advertising in TAR, for the most part, doesn't come out and hit you like it's offensive... it's just like The Price is Right is full of product placement, but that never detracted me from watching.
The Treasure Hunters product placements are much more annoying--them having to search Ask.com, use Motorola phones to receive clues, etc. I can't say that I enjoy the concept of this show anymore because they seem to have copied a lot from TAR, and their product placements are so very common and repetitive that it becomes offensive (call me a TAR fanboy, but TH's ads are more offensive than TAR's ads imo). I stopped watching the show after Global's guffaw of showing Episode 4 when they should have showed Episode 3.

the worst product placement in th is when they have the clues on those big white financial signs. i've seen one in every episode, sometimes on the side of the freeway, sometimes in town, but always the same financial company.
that's just pathetic if you ask me.

I personally don't like this idea, Celebrity can really hurt this show.
Boston Rob's & Amber's celebrity almost killed that season, imagine if you have real celebrities.
Plus there will be more security concerns
Celebrity editions are 'ok' on closed off sets but not on TAR.
As for All-Stars, I prefer to think of participants of TAR as normal people, looking for an adventure, at the very least they will get a free vacation.
Unlike other shows where contestants are aspiring actors/models or reality TV show 'stars'.

I wouldn't mind seeing an All Star season... there are a lot of people I would like to see back--the Hippies and Frats of the 9th season among them.
Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazing_Race_11) claims that for TAR11, a new challenge director was hired--I think that'll be pretty hype and I can't wait to see how that turns out.

The two Middle Eastern teams gone in the first episode...so much for diversity! They ran into bad luck, that's all...they didn't make any big mistakes (I think one or both teams went to the wrong rental car place) but had bad taxi drivers, etc. It always happens.
I dont' like the models...they'll be this race's version of the frats; probably go far but won't win. I knew I would dislike Rob/Kimberly right from the intro and they look like they'll be the main dysfunctional couple. Don't like the Alabama single mothers either...Tom/Terry are kinda annoying but we'll see.
I want Peter/Sarah to do well...can't believe teams were annoyed she got to board first...she actually has a freakin' disability unlike that race where Lori/Bolo tried to pretend he was mentally challenged :cheesygri If you lookit the picture for Duke/Lauren at the cbs webpage, you'll see why the cheerleaders (I think) thought they were dating/same age...Lauren looks ooooooold. I thought Erwin/Godwin were Chinese because those sound like names Chinese parents would give and certainly not Korean but obviously not. Don't really have favorites (to win/likeable teams) but can't go wrong with eye candy

It's good to have the show back. I was just glad I didn't have to have a shot of the Muslim team climing the wall in their robes... poor cameraman down below :)
It was unfortunate how they lost so quickly.. I was wondering how they would deal with Halal.

I'm pretty sure that they were wearing pants underneath. Right now I am rooting for Peter/Sarah, the cheerleaders, and the Koreans. I dont want the models/crack addicts, gay guys, single mothers, or miss americas to win.
Watching Sarah climb the wall was pretty intense, can't imagine having to do that with an artificial limb, let alone a broken artificial limb. I also can't believe how much attitude the other teams gave when she boarded because of her disability. There's nothing wrong with that, having to live with an artificial limb should at least give someone the right to board a plane first. Its not like she got her own private plane, they all got there the same time.

The way CBS chose to focus on the Muslims religion and nothing else made it seem to me like they were there in a heavy handed effort to show America that not all Muslims are terrorists. In almost every shot they were praying or what not. It was a nice idea but im watching to entertained and I just don’t find any religion entertaining. Im kind of glad they are gone as I'm afraid to think where CBS would have gone with it.
About the teams:
The Koreans seem cool.
Sarah bothers me a little bit but the girls got spunk :)
Cheerleaders\Miss America... what can I say Im a guy I hope they both make it till the end LOL
The black ladies seem to be very bitter.
I liked the Indian couple. Its too bad they are gone.
Ill have to wait another episode or 2 before I decide who I really want to win

Yeah - pretty sad to see people with that kind of attitude. Don't people with disabilites leave a plane last anyways?
I was sad to see the Muslim team go. I was looking foward to learning about the religion and customs thru this show. :D For example, I didn't know that they don't shake hands. Actually, it was sad to see two teams go in one episode.

I watched the show and had no favorites at this point yet. I was a little disappointed that they got rid of 2 teams on the first show, it would have been nice to get to know the teams a little better before they leave. I also would have liked them to see a little more of the world at the shows expense. ;)

Yeah it sucks they got rid of two of the more interesting couples in the beginning but that's the way things are, bad drivers and you're screwed.
None of the teams really strike me as likable, the models are the equivalent of the frat guys but less funny and personable. That one couple is like John and Victoria but not as mean and as funny as John, I think they were my favorite pair of all time because that relantionship was way too much.
The asians are boring, the cheerleaders are typical, the black ladies are your stereotypical angry black females.

Cool videos, where you see how much interaction the film and production crew have with the racers. You have to hand it to the editors for doing a good job every season.
The location is not much of a spoiler considering that CBS already announced all the new countries they will be visiting this season, back in it's summer press conference.

They were "reading from a script" b/c the crew provides teams with additional instruction and safety precautions that are not listed in the clues.
You think all the teams knew how to shoot arrows or ride a horse this week? Someone had to stop and show them how to perform the activity, before teams can do it themselves.
And the cameramen need to get shots from the right angle, so that no production crew ends up on film.

Some comments about the latest episode:
(1) Peter (or Japetto, as an earlier poster so aptly named) is a domineering S.O.B. He of all people, should be sympathetic to Sarah's limitations, but then he chastises her for not going fast enough. Then he becomes passive aggressive when Sarah asks him to be more understanding by replying that he'll have to lower his game to accommodate her wishes.
(2) The latest change: Teams who are in last place during non-elimination legs are not longer stripped of their cash and possessions. Instead, if the team fails to come in first place during the next leg, they receive a 30 minute penalty.
(3) The Cho bros' LOST tshirts with a pic of Phil were funny.
So far, there are no teams that I particularly would like to win. I'd like to see the coal miner and his wife stick around a bit longer. They're fun to watch and although they most probably won't win, they would benefit most from the money. The druggy models get on my nerves though -- am I supposed to like them because they managed to stay off the heroin and make a living in the challenging world of male modelling?

Good episode last night ... always love it when they go to India.
i think the new rule for the non-elimination round is rather good.
also, can anyone tell me why they would treat Raving Rob for his heat exhaustian but not Coalminer's Wife for her ankle or Sarah for her knee? Sexism ;)
I love how they are showing the beauty pagent queens to be uber mean.

I hate the black women team. All they do is complain about their treatment. Also really paranoid that another team is going to screw them over. They should get out ASAP.
I'm rooting for the Cho brothers. They're hilarious, first with their water guns then the fake phone and LOST t-shirts.

I like the cho brothers as well. I'm also going for the hotties and the coal miner team. Everyone else pretty much sux. I used to root for peter and sarah, but now I loathe peter and sarah never stops whining, so they lost my vote. Rob and Kim are the most stuck up people ever, "Don't let any of them touch me."
And the crack addicts are so lame, are we supposed to feel sorry for drug addicts? I know its never their fault they get hooked, they always have a convenient excuse, like they enjoy smoking pole for crack or something to that extent.

I thought the Cho bros' cell phone joke was kinda dumb. So Rob got tricked and then he borrowed a real cell phone and made real reservations. How does that benefit the Cho bros at all?? He just provoked an opponent to become more prepared than them.
And also, why the frig do they have to make the decision based on some other team? The way I understood it was, they chose the floor pattern, temp was hot and then instead of making up their own minds, they had to sync with the black ladies before they left!
AND even after they finished the crocodile task, they were waiting for the black chicks to finish! How friggin annoying is that. One of the chicks could'nt climb the wall, and what does the Cho bros do? Wait until she climbs over.
Makes me think twice about supporting these two bros. I mean its all fine and good that you wanna be friends with other teams and share resources *strategically*, but for gods sake don't over do it so much that you cannot even cover your own ass. I hate it when us asians overdo the selfsacrificing bs to win a popularity award. Its not like the Cho bros is the strongest team of the bunch.
p.s. And do they have to friggin bow in *every* asian country they go to, *everytime* they get handed something?? None of the other teams does this!!

I was initially thinking the same thing, why wait for the other team?
Then I thought about it, and it made sense. THey knew they were not going to be the first team. So, waiting for the other team is a strategy to build an alliance in case they will need help in the future, eg money. THey have nothing to gain in being a couple of minutes faster than the other team.

I agree with a lot of the statements, this year doesn't really have too many likable characters. Cho Brothers are probably the forerunners for that award but the rest are pretty annoying, drug-addict models, beauty queens, stuck up couple, and the cheating egomaniac doctor and handicapped wife. The gay guys were pretty funny but had no chance at all in winning, and it was too bad to see that brown couple leave early.

Wow Peter shows himself to be more and more of a jerk each episode...Like everyone's been saying, there's no real likable team (left) other than the Cho Bros but they're too passive and have too much of a "we're enjoying this rather than trying to win" attitude to win. David/Mary are a bit on the ignorant side but at least they're not annoying or jerks. Now that I look back, I'd much rather root for the eliminated teams than the remaining ones. Duke/Lauren and Kellie/Jamie didn't bug me and the two 'Brown' teams looked like they were amiable but maybe that's why they got the boot first. I just hope Peter doesn't win and the druggies don't win.

The only reason why they'd be doing an All-Star season is because CBS only gave Season 11 the greenlight a few weeks ago. With the station requesting the show for its Jan/Feb-May timeslot, Amazing Race Productions doesn't really have the time to do multiple rounds of casting, on top of the 30 days of travel and filming before the premiere.
It usually takes 2-3 months to cast contestants on the show. Within that timeframe, it also allows them to obtain visas for potential shooting locations.
And this season has been fairly good. Great locations and use of local culture in challenges, camaraderie among the teams, and some nice twists, but nothing OTT like you'd see on Survivor.

Just finished watching tonight's episode. Shocked at Peter's and Sarah's elimination, going from first to death last. As well, I am pretty baffled at how the Cho brothers are just way too nice!! This is a game after all and they are now down to the final 7 teams. THe race is on guys. They have to stop helping the Kentucky and the Alabama team. Like how they let Alabama passed them for the roadblock. Imagine if these three teams all stick together and were the last teams to arrive at the finish line. Who goes first? Who gets eliminated?!?!? I know they have a big heart but still, there is a million dollars hanging down the line.. and I am still baffled at how the moms could have finish ahead of the brothers tonight. I hope the moms get eliminated next week... They have been riding too long on people's coatails.

I hate the fact that the Chos help them even though they've shown no gratitude nor have they returned the favor. Funny hearing them talk about the Barbies and how they should run their own race...stupid hypocrites. Blah, what a terrible bunch of racers this time around...nobody likeable. I think Rob/Kimberly have a decent shot at winning...a bit intense but not explosive like other "yelling teams" of the past.

Wrong. Best strategic move in the game. Considering the bottleneck at the Towers, there would have only been a 10-15 min. gap between the teams leaving the Roadblock. Psyching out the Beauty Queens from getting the FF was a great idea. It kept their friends in the Race and ultimately eliminated a stronger team Peter and Sarah. And whether it was intentional or not, David and Mary are ultimately a weaker team than the Cho Bros so it will benefit them in later legs, and even the finale.
And they even got a police car to clear traffic for them, comme Die Hard with A Venegance. That was brilliant on their part, considering past police officers (like in Season 6's finale) couldn't be bothered to help.
A lot of nice teams have finished as winners or near the top: Chip + Kim, Danny + Oswald, BJ + Tyler, Uchenna + Joyce...etc.
Unless ppl forgot, it's one part "Amazing" and one part "Race". The Cho Bros lived up the former's billing.

I agree with everything you said, however getting the police officer to take them to the place with sirens on, is pure luck, dependent on the country and the police officer.
Going down on his knees to ask for further help wasn't their highest point in this race, glad they are still in it though.
As for Peter you could tell from earlier on that he doesn't love Sarah, he uses her handicap to his advantage every chance he gets.
Sarah also did the physical tasks while he laid back.
Personally she will be better off, Peter looks like a psycho-killer, he looks like he is just hiding some built-up rage.

I agree. By aligning themselves with the 2 weakest teams left in the race, they're helping them get further than they would've on their own. When it comes down to the final 3, if either one of those teams make it and it's suddenly free-for-all, the Chos have a much easier time.
Besides, isn't it more fun to watch a team do the Race that looks like they're genuinely enjoying themselves and not screwing everyone left right and center to the finish line ?

Yeah the brothers have the occasional mental lapse, but they're not totally reliant on their alliance. When they thought Lyn/Karlyn were driving the wrong way, they went and did the other Detour on their own and almost caught up with the bumbling Beauty Queens at the Detour. They're the first half-decent brothers team since the twin models in Season 4.
The last two seasons have had a lot of camaraderie and friendly competition between the teams. Racers were actually sharing the experience with each other. That was kinda missing from Season 3/4 to 8, when the teams were simply there to win the money, rather than enjoying the Race. I can watch any other gameshow to see someone win $1M... you expect something more from the Race, with emphasis on the "Amazing".
One thing to add: Considering that the Roadblock was at the beginning of the leg, there wasn't that much risk for the Chos to give up the FF and wait out the 15-20 mins to do the climb. There was more than enough time for them to make up some time or for other teams to make a mistake (comme Peter and Sarah). It's not like that horrible G-simulator Roadblock in the Family edition. It was right at the end of the leg, with no room for teams to make up ground once their order to do the Roadblock had been determined.

Lyn/Karlyn are just nasty people. They just seem angry and serious all the time.
Cho bros, I'd have to say, was smarter than I thought. An epiphany of sorts hit me, if you have ANY team next to you no matter how late in the day, its your safety insurance. As long as you're quick with the draw and pull the trigger. Yeah I know its obvious. On the other hand, the Cho bros, I dunno if they faster than Lyn/Karlyn to pull the trigger.

This game was so ugly to watch.. especially the first 15 minutes. The beauty queens really shouldn't have helped the two male models in getting tickets. If I were the mom team, I would be just as pissed off especially if they arrived first before the male models but thank god... there were enough tickets for everyone.
It's funny how no ones knows about Mauritius. I got a couple of co-workers who are from that country.
Cho brothers.. don't understand why they had to wait for the other two teams swimming back from the boat. They should have just went and run their own race. Those moms have mentioned countless times that they will not wait for anyone and will run on their own when it comes down to it.
Tonight was a very close one for the three teams alliance..David/Mary are just so damn lucky by avoiding another elimination. This means that the Cho Brothers will probably let them go ahead...yet again..sigh..:( I hope the Cho brothers will realise that they have to start playing the game and look out for themselves. I don't believe they will always outrun the moms.
The male models are saying that the CHo brothers are trying to bring the two other weaker teams to the final three so that in the end, the Cho's can compete with two weaker teams, making it easier for them to win but I don't believe that the Cho brothers are that kind of people...but what's up with those Cho brothers snubbing the beauty queens in the detour? they could at least said hi to them...

To be fair to 'bama, it's only Karlyn (the thinner/smaller one) that's a not-so-nice person. The other one Lyn is much more mellow. Karlyn was giving the ticket agent crap; there was no need for that. And she's the only one that constantly mentions that they won't wait for the others.
This has been a very roller-coaster race. There's no clear-cut favorite and at this point, just about any team could win (although I'd probably rank 'bama and Kentucky near the bottom).
I wonder what the new "Intersection" thingy is..

The Cho Bros. seem like genuinely good people, although when Tyler and James mentioned that they could be doing it to get into the final 3 with 2 weaker teams, I think they do make a good point.
The Beauty Queens are really cute, especially Dustin, and are surprisingly really good at giving people the slip and finishing near the top!

Last time, Kentucky could use the fast forward to be first. I don't know the rules of this one, but with the intersection (which looks like each team pairs up with another team), there either won't be a FF, or they still won't be able to use it because they've already used one.
They're a longshot, but 30 mins is nothing if a team gets lost. There have been alot of the late at night arrivals at the pitstop 2-3 hours after the other teams.
phd1969
Oct 31st, 2006, 12:10 AM
It's very good strategy to pair up with weaker teams. I don't know how many times I've seen a team get kicked out because of a bad taxi driver who had no clue where they were going, and subsequently lost it for the team. By waiting on 2 other teams, you can insure yourself that a) you won't get lost because there is more than 1 taxi involved or b) if you do get lost, you will be lost with another team and won't have to worry about if you're in last place or not.
The two gay guys of a few seasons back, Lyn and Alex had a ****** driver in the finale episode that pretty much cost them 1 million dollars. And don't forget that the Cho brothers had a bad taxi driver in the very first episode in China, and if it wasn't for the Muslim dads being ****** players they (Cho Bros) would have been the first team eliminated this year. You bet they smartened up after that ...

Here's my take on the Cho brothers. I believe they are genuinely trying to help 'Bama and Kentucky, but likely for selfish reasons.
When the three teams are always bunched together like that when they get to the pitstop, Cho will always win in a foot race. If they were to be seperated, there's a chance the Cho brothers could get lost and lose their footspeed advantage. So it's to their advantage to make sure that everyone gets to the pitstop at the same time.
It's kinda like that old joke about being chased by a bear when you're with your friend. You don't have to outrun the bear, you just have to outrun your friend.

The intersection thing is kinda interesting...not so much this time because of the clear-cut alliances/enemies but it could be interesting in later races if a lot of teams arrive at the same time. There's too many mactors (models + actors) on the show.
Anyway, the so-called "hilbilly" befriended and embraced a gay couple, Asian bros, and other folks that would never be in their neck of the woods.

- The Cho Brothers are TOO nice, high-educated but stupid, and physically weak. If they really want to race, they can beg while waiting in line for Taxi. I don't like "people do everything to win", but at least try your best in manner.
- The Babies are smart (than their hair :) ), strong and very competitive.

You've obviously never been on SurvivorSucks. Best Amazing Race forum online - no holds barred comments on the show. And it actually has a good list of Race alumni on the show, including Chip, Hera, Ray, Johnathan Baker, Tammy Gaghan, Brennan, etc.... who post there. A lot of Race neologisms, from "mactor" to "Philimination" were all created there.

Was it both Chos that have a fear of heights or just one? Only one of them had to do that height challenge last time but now both gotta 1960s Batman down the tower :cheesygri That looks like it would be sooo freaky especially if you have a genuine fear of heights.
It was obvious that this was gonna be one of those To be continued legs...probably gonna be some bunching up then.
Yeah it was one of the Chos that had the fear of heights.
From the preview of the next episode it seems like Bama screws the Chos, hopefully this will be a wakeup call and hopefully they can recover.
And that couple Rob and Kimberly I believe those 2 are a mess,
Rob: "Damn !! we just missed the train"
Kimberly: "Don't worry we will get the next one"
Rob: "Can you just please let me have my moment here!"
Seems like Rob is the Diva in the relationship.

As an aside, The Amazing Race Asia is on right now on AXN. Downloadble obviously in the right places. It's actually fairly good, diverse casting (with teams from 7/8 different countries) and a more down to earth editing reminiscent of TAR before it got really polished in Season 5.
The host is horrible though; he appeared on Fear Factor. When he greets teams at the finish mat, he's like "You're team number............................................ ...................... 2!" There's a reason why Phil only does that for the last team to arrive; there's no suspense watching a team finish in the middle of the pack.
And if that doesn't pique your interest, here's one of the mactor teams:

The Indonesian brothers, M&M are hillarious. They're out of shape, spend money like crazy yet they're kicking everyone's ass. When they were at a toll booth on the freeway, there was a sign that said "Say no to porn." and they were like "sure... ok."
The Hong Kong couple suck... they're ex-pats who don't even represent the local population one bit.
The line of the night was when they visited a snake pit with these 20 foot pythons. One girl's like "Don't hurt me, I'm born in the Year of the Snake!"

Chos never really had it in them to win the race...other than their lack of intensity and their "niceness", there's not much to dislike about them which is way I was cheering for them (plus the fact that there really were no likeable teams this race).
Bama's so annoying and there's no way they'll win but still, the sooner they're gone the better. At this point, I hope the blondes win....

Well, this year, that was the first (and perhaps the last) yield. And the teams don't know if there is an elimination or a pass, so I think it's just meant to heighten the tension. If 'Bama hadn't regained their lead after being yielded, the yield itself would have seemed more threatening than it actually was. Sure, they would have remained in the game, but they wouldn't have known that until the last second and probably realized they'd have to turn it up a notch.
Hope that makes some kind of sense...

love how righteous 'bama was when they were yielded. They were planning to yield the blondes but couldn't move their fat buts (to be fair, only one of them seems to be really slow). Just like the foot race at the end of the show ... god help them if they are in the final two ... despite everyone thinking they are so good at finding locations.
And what is up with the car curse with one team every race? That was the third time Rob's car has broken down on him. too funny.

But you’ve got to admit, if they make it into the final three teams, the other two has a higher chance of winning the race just for that reason…
And the none elimination leg with a yield was pointless… but the producers might have changed the rules at last minute to keep the “beautiful” queens in the game to make it more interesting… more drama… that was the rumour last season when the hippies were at the same situation.

The Yield is usually placed on an NEL. There's only been one instance where the Yield appeared on a leg, was used, and resulted in a team's elim.
And plz don't bring up any conspiracy theories about the producers changing the timing of the NEL. Their number is pre-determined before the race, and in this season there's three of them. The cover-up and logistics required for something like that would be monumental. Occam's Razor prevails here.

Felt kinda sad to see the blondies go. They were efficient, positive and smart competitors. Not to mention cute!
And whats the big deal about being the first all female team anyways. Are they saying that women are weaker? Are they saying that women don't work well together? There was no such big deal made when a dual-male team won. Hah! Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Ever since the Cho Bros elimination, 'Bama has constantly surprised me. And dare I say it, there's a new found respect for them! They are smarter and more efficient than I thought.
With the three teams left, the boys have a very good chance of winning. 'Bama will get bogged down in a physical task. And Rob&Kimb to my knowledge, a "bickering" type team never won in the past. Y'know the hothead guy and a princess girl team. But we'll see, should be a good episode next week.

Bama has actually started growing on me, it was funny when they were nattering at one another. :D They've taken me by surprise by doing well lately, but if the finals comes down to a footrace, they're at a major disadvantage.

Bamas probably going to win. You see the Chos jumping up and down in excitement at the finish line in the previews.
Anyway, they do give out money to all racers, on a sliding scale based on final placement. It's something like a (minimum actor's daily wage) x (the number of days of filming), but they boost it up a bit for 2nd and 3rd place.

Because they always deferred the 'thinking/decision making' to the Chos.
Sadly like someone else mention, I believe the Bamas probably won as well.

Worst season finale ever. I thought it would be a 2 hr finish like some other seasons, I especially thought there would be a sort of recap task at the end in which they had to remember all the places they'd been, that seems to be common in finales.

I hate it when it comes down to taxi-cab racing. Then it's just pure luck and nothing else. It happens all race long but the last leg shouldn't come down to taxis....they should have one challenge at the very very end right near the pit stop.
Maybe the all-star race will be more interesting. At least we all know who we want to win/lose right from the start  Not gonna remember anyone from the first 2 TAR...and even from TAR 3-5, I can only really recall the top half or so.

I agree that the finale was waaaay too short. It was funny how the last clue was to "convince" a cabbie to take them there... At the very least they should have had to drive themselves... you know Rob would have done something to make sure that the car breaks down. Can't wait to see Rob become a 4-time reality show loser. If he had half a brain he would have boned up on his Spanish after it cost him a million in Miami.
There are rumours that teams are going to Antarctica. They were spotted at the southernmost tip of Argentina last week.
The problem with the final leg was that there were no equalizers or challenges after the flight into New York. In the past, teams had to do way more tasks before reaching the finish line, whether it was some zany roadblock or searching for obscure locations in the city. They could have done the crazy footrace in the streets of San Fran like in S2. In S4's finale there was that crazy riddle at Sundevil Stadium. S5 had that huge lumberyard maze. There was no chance for any lead changes and it was simply a boring sprint to the finish.
And even if Bama made it on the same flight, they would have had no chance running 2 miles through Manhattan. I didn't understand why the challenge designers made the whole section of the race based on physical ability and left out all the navigational and or puzzle-solving challenges of the past. The last leg should be something that tests the mettle of all teams and it shouldn't be weighted to suit the strengths of any particular team.
Pretty uneventful season. Would have been more gratifying had Bama won. And this is the umpteenth time that some cardboard cutout mactor team won the race.
Amazing Race Asia is LIGHT yrs ahead of this S10 crapfest. Last week they had a deceptively simple clue "Look for a child on a swing" in New Zealand but it took some teams hours to figure out what it meant.

There's no "confirmed" list of racers. Press releases have only stated that Romber are "on the Race". Everything else has simply been eyewitness sightings and photos. CBS and World Race Productions haven't released any other details about the Race yet.
Regarding the recent eyewitness sightings, I'm happy with the way Romber's latest reality show participation has turned out... :D
There's spoiler photos of the final 4... so if you take them for face value, they're the only "confirmed" teams, on top of spoiler photos of a certain team in South America a week or two earlier.
