Please critique my plan!!
I have a Telus plan and I'm in Vancouver, I don't know if I should just keep the deal I have, or try and get a better deal. But before I do that, I better get as much information as possible. Here's the details of my current plan;

$30 before taxes and fees. Total comes to a little less than 43.00 including taxes and all fees.

Includes call display
call waiting
voice mail
per second billing (it used to be a clearnet plan)
unlimited evenings after 7pm and unlimited weekends
100 free minutes/month
I am not on a contract.

I barely use my cellphone. (I don't like talking on cells, but I do like the conenience of having one around) I'm more than okay with a plan that has fewer minutes, but not really into the "pay as you go" phones if it means I have to go to stores and line up so I can buy more minutes and the minutes expire less than 3 months.

These are the features I want:
call display
voice mail
would prefer a number that starts with 604
flip phone

Can you recommend a better plan? I don't mind being in a contract if it means it'll be a lot less money. I go to the US a lot as well as Whistler so it would be a real bonus if it works there as well. If it's cheaper for a phone without the best reception, I'm willing to go for the cheaper plan. I barely use my cell phone. In a month I'll probably talk maximum 20 minutes during M-F for the whole month and maybe 30-60 minutes on the weekends for the entire month. Although I don't use my phone much, I really would like a nice small sleek flip type phone with maybe picture taking abilities but I don't want to spend much buying the phone. I'd like to be able to send a receive text messages for free, but it's not really a big deal if I don't get it.

Thanks for reading and any advice you may have. In case you are wondering, I have tried searching, but getting confused cause of different features, regions of Canada, requirements (student, hospital worker).

Any other plan you probably won't save more than a few dollars. Try Fido's site and look at their plans:

http://www.fido.ca/portal/en/packages/monthly.shtml#anytime

They have a 200 anytime minute plan at the bottom for $20, plus $8 for call display and voicemail. Including tax and access fee that comes to about $40 but Fido bills by the second. I don't think you will get much cheaper unless you find a corporate plan.
