I have been trying to replace my outlets and switches at my new home, switches were a success - every single one worked.

i moved on to replacing the outlets and that's where trouble started, i replaced and connected every single outlet as it was connected to the old and original one, but after i turn the power back on, my entire second floor has lost power (i have only replaced my second floor outlets so far)

i have tried everything, connect them by screw instead of the quickattach, and a few other things, still wont work

so i need to call in an electrician, does anyone know a trustworthy and cheap certified electrician?

thanks

Go turn on the 15A brakers and see if it trips again. If it does, then it means you have a short somewhere, maybe you pinched the wire too much. Electrician is a trade job so you be looking at regular going rate for a trades person, $60/h.

This is something a high school kid taken electrical courses can deal with, so you have some options, maybe people you knew taken some course in hs can look it for you for good price.

I pm'd you my number but left out my name ask for chris,, if it doesnt trip your breaker you probably have an open circuit somewhere in the line that feeds the upper floor..... and being a new home I've heard there has been a change in the ontario electrical code book regarding seperating the lighting circuit with the receptical circuits.... this could be why your lights are still working.. but this is just an idea... just check each plug again
