i was just browsing the site and thought it looked nice......i think i could use a new watch
how much do guys normally pay for a quality watch these days? is $169 US plus shipping ridiculous? or somewhere in the ballpark?

$170 sounds ok, that's about the average price for the watches I buy. You can pick up some Hilfiger, Guess or Kenneth Cole watches around that price. I would recommend Costco to see some watches. My Guess was $90 there and the retail at Sears and The Bay is $180 for the exact same watch.

If you're not gonna be thugging and acting ghetto, don't buy Roca Wear lol.

If you're looking for a quality watch like you said in your 2nd post, I reall don't think you would want to buy a Roca Wear watch. They make clothes, and crappy ones at that.

c'mon, if you're going to spend that much money on a watch, at least try to buy it from a Real Watch Company. ;) don't bother with "Roca-Wear", whatever the hell that is...

Doesn't Timex make most of those watch brands?

It's nice looking, but I don't like the roman numerals on it, plus the three extra little dials inside detract from the watch IMHO.

Nice looking watch, but I am not sure if it's worth the money though.
If I was paying for that amount, I would get a kinetic watch. I love how you don't need to change batteries for many years.

I'd hit up some eBay for watches. Usually you can sift through the fakes and find a real good deal. I got a sweet one for like 35$, Lorus (by seiko) with steel band and all that jazz.

I don't think the watch looks right. You've got the roman numerals, which is a traditional looking style, juxtaposed with the modern high-polish silver links.

Nice try.
Tommy does not have sapphire crystals, Movado does.
Tommy is costume jewellery.
Movado is a pristige brand.

Who really cares, just buy what you want. It's not our watch; it's yours.

Tommy Hilfiger watches may not have the crystals you speak of, but my Tommy Hilfiger is designed and manufactured by Movado and the warranty is by Movado as well.
Don't make me scan the papers to prove it. :)

manufacturing something and making something are 2 different things. Mavado owns the building which prodces the watches, but the watches are made to tommy specifications. Same thing happens all over the industry. In clothing, the same manufacturing company that makes Boss jeans, also makes Mavi jeans. Doesn't mean they are the same, just means they are made with the same machines, by the same people with different specifications.

wow the thread got so long...havn't checked the forums in a while.
well i appreciate everyone's suggestions. the site where i was going to get it at $169 USD, has it now for $142 USD....but the picture in the foto looks slightly differnet from the one on the website. i emailed the guys asking if it was the same model and they said they dind't even know and to check with the manufacturer :S...wtf..
im hesitant to spend $225 USD. i know i could prob get a much better watch than that. I guess it was just an impulsive thought to get it. I'll think about it for a while, no sense is pissing away that much money and regretting it later.
Thanks for the opinions though.

i think it's very nice. that style you can dress up or dress down. you can wear it with a suit or you can wear it with street gear. i say go for it, but ya don't swim with it on maybe, even if it is water resisitant....i still wound't. i think it's a sexy looking watch
