I went to Thailand a couple years ago and a local travel agency in chinatown had better deals than anyone else. Of course most of their promotional material was in Chinese, but I understood the pictures.:)

There should be tons of deal to HK since WHO just remove the travel advisory. Definitely check with a chinese travel agency and see if Cathy Pacific has some deals.

I work at the Vancouver airport and the cheapest I heard off is Cathay pacific, a few people I know flew for $980+tax.
