The first place i'd look is either Walmart or Home Depot or maybe SuperStore. If it's a common model then maybe even Costco would have it. Otherwise you may have to look online.

Both Bionaire.CA (http://www.bionaire.ca/bionairefiltersca.html) and The Buyers Club (http://www.thebuyersclub.com/filter.htm#TRUEHEPA) have it for $79.99. I have personally used the The Buyers Club for my filter needs since '98 and I've always been happy with them. They're based in Montreal and only use UPS for shipping. I've not used Bionaire.CA (not run by the manufacturer), but they ship from Toronto and allow your to choose different levels of service with either Canada Post or UPS. You'll probably find The Buyers Club to charge a little less, plus you'll get package tracking.

Does anybody have more information on the best air cleaners to buy? SDM Home Health Care had a HEPA cleaner on display for $150 that supposedly sells for $300 regular.

After reading Consumer Reports, I have learned that an air cleaner is unnecessary for most people. There are many other more important factors such as regular dusting & vacuuming, & avoiding indoor pollutants such as smoking & chemicals. Instead of buying an air cleaner such as the highly-rated Friedrich C-90A or Bionaire BAP-1300, we plan to buy a vacuum cleaner instead such as the CR Best Buy, Eureka Boss Smart Vac Ultra 4870.

but... if u plan on getting an air purifier... get an ionic breeze, these things save the day!
forget hepafilters because the replacements are costly

get one of the sharper image ones and you never have to worry bout it
low energy consumption,
silent
no filters
and does an amazing job!

i personally use one from my store... if ur interested in one pm me and i can get u a good deal on one.

Beware of the Sharper Image products. Consumer Reports have proven that their Ionic Breeze did a poor job removing dust and smoke from the air. Their latest tests also show that some ionizing models can expose you to significant amounts of ozone!

Sharper Image launched a stupid lawsuit against Consumer Reports' unbiased reviews. The court threw out the lawsuit and ordered Sharper Image to pay CR U$525,000!

i personally use one from my store

I know this is kinda old but i've been looking for the same thing for a while.

The cheapest one that i know of is from Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005JHQG/qid=1128809832/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8__i1_xgl79/104-1504454-8908709?v=glance&s=kitchen&n=228013

Does anyone know if you've to pay duties other than the regular taxes on something brought in the US?
