what is a good program that i can use to simply change the bitrate of like 15 gigs of music from various bitrates (wma) (like 192- 1105) to it all being 192 kpbs. whats a reliable program that can do that without ****ing up my songs and losing months worth of building a music collection. thanks.

You're better off using VBR. VBR = constant quality. CBR = variable quality.

Don't you mean the opposite?

or better yet.... don't bother re-encoding ur music.... everytime you do that for a lossy codec you lose sound quality... as if 192kbps isn't low enough

No, not at all. Variable bitrate = constant sound quality. Constant bitrate = variable sound quality. Sorry, I should have been more specific and stated that it is "sound quality".

Complex music requires higher bitrate in order to stay sounding CD quality. Ever notice how the bitrates are low during the beginning of a song, when it fades in, and near the end, when it fades out?

you see, this is why ontario has the ****ing literacy test man. notice how i said that my music mostly all 192 kbps but a lot of it is wma variable bit rate (ripped off cd's) so its anyqwhere between 400 and 1100 kpbs which i want to be 192 kpbs. i'd rather just have everything one uniform bitrate.
