I want to mod my bro-in-law's xbox for a surprise on his birthday. (by July 28th)
I've emailed DJXP, but in-case that he's too busy, I was looking for others suggestions.
Time and cost permitting, I also want to give it one of those funky looking cases & I figure I’d just pick up a 200gb hard drive (they’re pretty cheap these days) and loading the system up with emulators etc.
What is typically the cost breakdown for materials and labour?
How long does the process take?
If anyone has ideas for someone to bring it to, or offerings to do it themselves, I'm looking for someone in GTA with excellent references.
msg here or PM me!
Thanks in Advance!

For my softmod the guy charged me 35 or 40 bucks I think, it didn't take more than 30 minutes, but it works and he installed XBMC as well so that was a bonus.

Mad-Mods (http://www.mad-mods.com/), really nice guy, took time to explain everything to me. Lots of referrals for this guy on xbox-scene (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/).

I had DJXP do mine, and it works great (I can even go on XBL), but I have heard that XBL will ban you if you are already subscribing and you swap out the HD and try to go online with a different HD then what was initially there when you signed up for XBL. If you don't use Live, then I guess it's not an issue. I was ok bc I did not use XBL prior to getting my box modded.

Thanks to Sensei and Hambone for referrals thus far.
I've emailed everyone (incl. DJXP as before) and this is going nicely.
Keep them coming!

I also found a fellow GTA'er (jrOC99) in the xbox-scene forums who did the mod for me on the 23rd of December a few years back! I was happy to get it on boxing day, yeah! (I could have waited an hour and got it back the same day but it was the holidays :)). Anyway, after the mod was complete, he explained everything to me in a professional manner and even got to test the xbox itself at his place. He is around the Yonge/Eglinton area and I payed him cash. Check him out here (http://www.hitz-online.com/mods/) and here(feedback) (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=204253&st)!
