Looking for a bulk emailer for newsletter distribution

I used to have a program called something along the lines of "Bulk Mailer" that could schedule HTML email to large distribution groups, but I can't find it anymore.

I'm looking for something that will allow a friend of mine to manage his email contacts (owns a winery) and schedule newsletter mailings.

Any recommendations before I start downloading at random?

If your friend does it for business and it is important for him that his newsletters will be actually received, open and read I recommend paying to a company that provides a service of this type, otherwise odds are that your freind's email will end up in most people junk folders.

Hrm...blat looks neat, but probably not for the non-savvy user I am getting this for. I have a copy of Mailing List Deluxe that I will try him out on, and see where we go from there.

I don't think a service is required in this instance.

If you don't get a service... don't be surprised if his ISP bans him - or worse -gets his ISP blocked for spam e-mail!!!

Of course this really depends on the # of messages your "friend" is sending out.

Well, it's an opt-in newsletter for Winery clients, somewhere on the order of 1000 people, one time per month. I send out more email than that between work, family and friends, so I don't think it's going to be a big deal.
