Modded X-box are not illegal to sell or own in Canada...yet. But selling replicated DVDs are illegal therefore you're thread was locked.

i wish he would do ps2 mod, oh well, everyone knows the latest executor 2.2 is no solder mod, while ps2 no swarp are all heavy soldering. ps2 mod is so much harder. are you able to do it?

Yeah, I got 1 Premod left. Details are in the first post.

The latest X-ecuter2.2 is not a no solder mod. There are two versions:
X-ecuter2.2 Lite is a soldered mod.
X-ecuter2.2 Lite+ is the solderless pogo-pin mod (Which I don't recommend since they misalign causing a non-functional Xbox. A soldered modchip is a much more stable solution).

As for PS2 mods, I simply don't have the time. I'm having less and less time to even help out the RFD community with Xbox mods. Which explains the lack of self-bumps :P

I'll do my best to make it up to you guys though :D

I know this is little off topic but can you use any hard drive? I previously heard that maxtor ones are the best for xboxs, have you ever had any problems with any hard drives? I'm will get my xbox modded by you hopefull soon, I'm just looking for a hard drive right now.

i heard most people use western digital 120gb as the xbox maxed out at 120 gb.

Any IDE hard drive will work. The issue is whether the hard drive is lockable or not if you intend on going on Xbox Live.

If you intend on playing on Xbox Live, then you'll need to keep the following in mind:
The modchip comes with an on/off switch. If you want to play on Xbox Live,you simply flip the modchip off. You must have the original Xbox game disc in order to play on Xbox Live. Disc Backups and backups stored on the Xbox hard drive will not work on Xbox Live.

If you replace your Xbox hard drive with a larger one, say an 80GB or a 120GB; the hard drive must be locked in order to play on Xbox Live. Not all hard drives are lockable. Although, every drive I've tried locking has locked, except my own personal one; go figure.

Once, again, if you don't ever intend on playing on Xbox Live, the hard drive does not need to be locked.


As for hard drive size. The sky's the limit with IDE drives. But if you intend on using a hard drive that's larger than 137GB, then the BIOS will need to be patched in order to support that. It's still in the beta phase, so I'm a little hestitant to support it until all the bugs are ironed out.

I deal exclusively with X-ecuter chips for now. They are the most popular chips. I dont see any advantages to getting the XBIT since all BIOSs are 256KB. Now that's enough BIOS talk. I wouldn't want to offend anyone now :P

Genuine X2.2 Pro have not been made for over 6 weeks so please be aware if anyone you deal with announces new stocks...All new stocks are the 2.3 design, and if you are unsure if your X2.2 Pro purchase is a clone then simply return it (if not working) to whomever you brought from and I'm sure they would refund you or acquire genuine stock of 2.3 and replace for you...Rule of thumb stay away from 2.2

He does custom bios flashing and it does all the same things except no chip and no physical change to the xbox. He custom does honda ecu's and applied his smarts to xbox's. Do you see any difference in getting a chip and getting a bios flash?

I think you're referring to the TSOP flashing. Older Xbox versions (v1.0 and 1.1, as I recall) have a 1MB TSOP, so it was possible to flash half of that with another BIOS and the other half with the original Microsoft BIOS.

Newer Xbox's have a 256KB TSOP, so it can only fit 1 BIOS. Meaning if you flash it with a NON-MS BIOS, you won't be able to go on Xbox Live.

The X2.3 Lite works with ALL versions of the Xbox. So I like to use one solution for everything, instead of having some people with a TSOP flash and some with a chip, etc.

Generally, speaking TSOP flashing is more riskier than installing a Chip. As many already know, when you're flashing any electronics, it's risky. I've had quite a few people contact me because they screwed up their TSOP flash and essentially have a dead Xbox.

As for the functionality of the two methods, it's pretty much BIOS dependent, NOT the method that's used. The X2.3 Lite does come with an External Switch with a light indicator to tell you when the Chip is off or on. TSOP flashing requires a custom switch and no light indicator.

Ok, that's enough BIOS talk. I don't want to further offend those who are sensitive to BIOS talk :P

IMHO, go for the biggest possible :D...after ya get your backups, music, movies, 'n whatever else on there, it starts to take up a fair amount of room ... + with the cost difference becoming smaller and smaller between say an 80GB and a 120GB HDD, it's usually well worth it to go for the max...(again all imho) :-)..

Well thats the thing, I wont be using it to play divx movies and mp3's etc. thats what my laptop is for :) If i ever want to watch divx movies and stuff on the tv i have tv-out so its not much of a concern. Im mostly getting this to store my games. How big is a game generally? 10gb's? 5?

Generally depends on the game...some are quite small and some get quite big :D...others out there may have a different assumption but I've found generally assuming 5GB on average works well when estimating :)...

I'd just installed a X2.3B Lite in my own Xbox. My views so far:
-Wires are more 'rugged/thicker.' They seem more durable than previous versions.
-It's a much cleaner design than the original X2.3 Lite. Less parts, mean less chance of something going wrong. Also much easier to install. No need to work around the grounding issues like the original X2.3 Lites :D

Ok, there's been a little confusion on both my part and Swifferman. It's not a keyboard adapter after all. I just opened up the bag and inspected it.

It's actually an adapter to allow you to plug in your Xbox controller to your PC.

-Connect your XBOX controller to your PC via USB

I'm really disliking all this so called 4th generation of chips. I don't see any true value added from these gimics they are adding or have added to the said Xenium, SmartXXX, X3.

When the X3 is released, I'll carry it. But only because I'll be forced to. Team Xecuter will most definitely discontinue the X2 line, to push their more expensive X3 :rolleyes:

IMO, chips have reached their prime with the X2.3B Lite. All I'd wish they'd do is keep the chip compatible with any new Xbox version MS might throw out.

As stated in the first post:

-1 Controller-S, Video/Audio Cables, Power Cord, Manual, & Box.
-All items are brand new! (Only the Xbox is opened. All other items are sealed in their plastic packing.)
-Xbox Live compatible

You can pick up the Xbox Premod in Toronto or Hamilton. Or I can ship it to you if pick up is not possible

You can play on Xbox Live as long as you turn off the chip. A switch is included to do so. You must use the original retail disc to play on Xbox Live, this applies to any modchip.

Warranty is 90 days from me.

Games and ROMS are not pre-loaded on the Xbox. That's all I'll say with respect to software.

Difference Between X2.3B Lite & X2.6:
X2.3B Lite compatible with v1.6 with modification to the external switch.
X2.6 fully compatible with v1.6 XBOXs.

X2.6 Same price as usual $310, unless there's a price drop by Microsoft
X3: Additional ~$30

If you get an unlocked drive, you must get a chip, otherwise an XBOX that's not chipped won't recognize it.

X3 should be out in about a week. ~$30 more than the X2.6.
Will you notice the difference between the X2.6 and X3? No.
It just has a lot more features that 99% of the people won't even use.
You can use the ~$30 you saved towards a Controller or something else :)

Yes, it's brand new.
Length of time of conversion depends on the quality setting you set it at. It also depends on your CPU, RAM, etc. There are so many different settings to customize the quality of both the video and audio...I really can't give you a number since it'll be different for everyone.
