Does anyone have either drive and recommendations between only these 2 drives and which is better in terms of specs and campatibility not to mention noise/power consumption/cpu usage.

thx

P.S. LG H10 going for $36.99
Pioneer 111 $38.99 both at www.ucomputer.ca
( latest issue of HUB Digital Living magazine )

Get the H10A and you can then flash a special firmware to turn it into a H10N. I got one and so far I've been happy with it!

i'd go pioneer

i've always found LG drives to be picky on media.. ever since the days of cd burners, to super combo drive, to dvd burner... when i switched to a pioneer 108, media troubles disappeared :)

Neither. Go with a BenQ DW1650! You just cannot find a drive with better burn quality, more useful features, or firmware support!

My first choice would be the Benq 1650 as well followed by the LG.

Yeah, you need to search the forums on cdrlabs.com or cdrinfo.com for more info. The H10N adds 12x DVD-RAM support (something the Benq 1650 doesn't have) and also bumps up the speed on DL write speeds.

my first choice would be the BenQ DW1650/55, followed by the Pioneer DVR-111D. LG's latest offereings are pretty average imo.

Benq... but if out of those 2 choices... the LG.
