banks are closed here in montreal >:( shops are open though...how are people supposed to pay for what they buy in case they dont wanna use ATM :confused: :confused:

I usually withdraw in big chunks once or twice a month. Like withdraw 50-100$ (may not be big for you). I do this as I just have 10free withdrawals per month including internet based transactions,bill payment etc.

Also, I hate swipping my Debit card anywhere including the atm machine...prefer to use cash or credit card

How this Canada day works is

All people who normally get saturday off (I.E. Work Monday-Friday) get Monday off to take advantage of the paid holiday.

All people who normally would work on the saturday, got saturday off and have to work monday.

As far as I know, no. Banks are closed today.

Are post offices open today (like the ones operated by & inside Shoppers Drug Mart)? I need to pick up a package.

They certainly are. I was curious too and even called today. They said yes, we're open.
