I'm looking to pick this up. But I don't have a Costco membership.
I was wondering could someone help me get it? The only store instock is the one in Vaughan.
I will pay them cash and a small bonus. I'm planning to build a go-cart this summer.
I don't wanna just go to costco and get a membership just for an engine.
Please let me know.

You could order online and pay a 5% surcharge.
"Shoppers who are not Costco Wholesale members will be charged a 5% surcharge on the member's posted product prices."

Really? Well I will pay back in full + a little bonus.
I'd like to have a copy of the reciept so If theres a problem with the engine I could bring it back.

Just so you know you can't return an item without the original cardholder present.

The above post is not accurate. If you have the receipt, and everything it came with, then you shouldn't have any trouble with the return.

I am pretty sure they check to see if your a member first, wouldnt that make sense or ppl would just abuse the system getting friends to buy yah stuff, elminitating the need to get membership?

Well if you get someone to buy you a Costco gift card, you can then go in and buy it yourself. Because the receipt will probably say you used a gift card, everything will probably go through fine during a return as well.

Anyu costco will refund your membership dues in full anytime during the year if you are not satisfied.
Go get your membership. Get your stuff. If in a while you know you are never going to get anything more out of it, go get your refund. It has to be easier and less risky than what you are doing.

That is not true..... I have returned stuff and I don't have membership. I had the receipt.

Well, last time I tried to return something they wouldn't accept it without my brother present so i'm just speaking from personal experience.

Just get a membership. It's well worth the $50 bucks. The products, the customer service. My GF had a flat tire, we took it to Costco, and they repaired it at no charge. When I needed my sunglasses adjusted, which i had not bought at Costco, I took them there and they adjusted the frame and nose piece to fit me properly, free of charge.
BTW, what's the engine for? You lookin to build a Go-Kart, Gordon? Tip...I was in the Mississauga Heartland Costco 2 days ago, and they had those engines in stock, about 5 of them.

This sounds like some over-zealous employee decided to make up a new rule while you were there... If you were in *my* store and had a receipt and all the stuff the product came with, you wouldnt have a problem, as far as I am concerned :)
