Friends, RFDers, Countrymen...Lend me Yours Ears!
Since we're all thoroughbred RFDers, I wonder if you all had similar experiences in your PRE-RFD days.
List them, and let others gawk at how hopeless you really are http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/petawawa/misc/lol.gif.
My Submission:
Early 2004, I buy Rogers' "latest and coolest" cellcam at an appropriately "premium" price of $199 on a 3yr.
I go ahead to my dealer and pick one up-knowing that the sales reps there did a little quasi RFD of their ownhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/petawawa/misc/laugh.gif. Apparently a pad of $99 rebates for this new phone being pushed hard FELL IN their lap. The rep told me(*ahem*, when you get home make sure you read the manual and as it contains important information http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/petawawa/misc/lolup.gif).
The rebate worked like clockwork, and on the coming Wireless bill I saw a credit of $99., Price for phone now dropped to $99.
That's not all., two months and a half later., in true Marketing strategy Rogers drops the price to $99. I submit a Price Protection claim to my CreditCard hoping that the cut off period of 60 days post-purchase won't be much of an issue since it was only 2 weeks after the fact (fingers doubly & triply crossedhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/petawawa/misc/boxing.gif). Sure enough on Next months Credit Card bill., I see a credit of $99. By the grace of God and good Fortune, my final cost for this (at the time) amazing phone becomes ($0+taxes on $199~I assume)....$30.
Hehe., man was I giddy.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/petawawa/misc/hello.gifhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/petawawa/misc/hello.gifhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/petawawa/misc/hello.gif
