has anyone bought anything off itunes?

If so, is the AAC files or whatever copy protected in anyway? I heard before they use to expire after x amount of time. Im looking to buy some albums and then just convert them to mp3

They don't expire. I've had some of my songs for quite a while.

As for converting, well you might have a problem with that. Apple has a proprietary DRM scheme called FairPlay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FairPlay), and AFAIK (http://slang.acronymfinder.com/af-query.asp?string=exact&acronym=AFAIK&s=r) it doesn't allow direct conversion using a stand AAC to MP3 convertor. There are guides out there though I'm sure. Either way YMMV (http://slang.acronymfinder.com/af-query.asp?string=exact&acronym=YMMv&s=r).

- songs don't expire, but there is a limit to how many times you can make a copy of it.

- it's 128

- I download songs that I can't find on limewire (or if the quality suck), and songs I *really* like but I don't like the rest of the album enough to go out and buy the whole album. I don't mind paying $0.99 for a good song.
