Its also 15 cents on Walmarts online site. But I just found out my order will be ready in 7-10 days. I thought it would be same or next day. You can get 1 hour service if you send it to some select walmarts apperantly.

Yep, they will do it while you wait no problem. Quality of paper used isn't as good as at Futureshop, but it'll do ;)

what do you mean by that? Most of the costcos i've seen in quebec use fuji frontiers or noritsu processors which are the industry standard.
Whether they use a kodak, fuji or noritsu machines they all print on traditional photo paper which will last a lifetime. I think the technical term is called silver-haylide paper. I have never used FS but i can assure you they are not using a better paper than costco or any other photolab for that matter.
Each companies paper (Kodak/Fuji/Agfa/Konica,etc) have certain qualities about them. Some are better at reproducing colours and others are better at skin tones. Just depends what your needs are. From my experiance costco prints are not the best but for the price it's a great deal for non critical work.
I'm not bragging here or trying to start a flame war but I work as a photographer full time for 14 years so i know what I'm talking about. If in your experiance you get better quality prints from FS versus costco I can assure you it is not because of the paper, it is because the operator of the processor had better training and a more experianced eye when it comes to color correction. This also means if you get good prints from one FS store it does not mean you will the same quality from another FS at another location. If you are happy with where you get your prints done stay with that place for consistant results.
I hope i cleared up any confusion. Thanks.

A wallet size *or one of them* is 2"x3". You can fit 4 of them onto a 4x6. So 15 cents devided by 4 *assuming you want 4*.

Meh.... Depends on the date you ordered; I just picked mine up today, and paid .18 cents per print. {It was only 20, though, not a big deal.}
Remember guys, check your Amex statements for the 'Buy 10 any size print, and get 10 free 5X7 when you pay, using your Amex' coupon that is probably included in your Air Miles Amex statement! It expires on June 30th, and you do need a hard copy of the coupon, so be sure to keep an eye out for that coupon.
Thanks, OP! I'll order some more prints now, for .15 cents each.

Thanks for the info. This is a good information. I was wondering about Blacks quality print, it seems to be better then the rest in my experience. Assume you are saying that the technician is better trained and more experience.

It was my June statement, [the one that would be due in July.] I did a posting on it on RFD, as well. Man, I hope you get one, after all, but chances look slim now with only a few days to go! Sorry!!! :(
Edited to add: My Costco prints are at least equal to that of Futureshop prints. [This time around, I did check off the box that allows you to choose automatic coloring/enhancements.] I am pleased with the results. :)

Like I've been saying in previous threads, I've done several comparisons between Costco, Futureshop and Blacks. I've printed out 5 different test photos for each company and Costco wins hands down.
Costco colours are accurate, crisp and print on great quality paper. You can even turn off auto correction if you post process your own photos. What you see is almost what you get. (can't get 100% of what you see off of the monitor due to colour limitation) You can also download their ICC profiles for the printers, so you can preview the soft proof of the picture before printing.
Futureshop is ok, but they auto correct and the pictures turned out over contrasted. Certain parts of the pics are over exposed while other parts are too dark. I guess it is satisfactory for everyday photos.
Blacks by far is the worst. The colours are off my a long shot, and the picture looks dull. They try to auto correct the photos and it looks too green. They tried to manually fix them, but still didn't look right. In the end I just gave up and threw them in the trash... No way I'm going to get photo manually corrected everytime I print batches of 100 pics.
So, anyways, Costco is my final choice and now that they've drop the prices, the better for my wallet
Cheers!

There is a bit of misinformation here althought the intention was good.
The papers the stores use are not all standard. Kodak still supplies the vast vast majority of the papers and chemicals to most photolabs in north america
Althought the Edge paper is the "standard" they manufacture other papers for higher quality such as the Endura or PerfectTouch lines.
The papers itself usually have little to do with the image quality aside from the finish (Matte, Glossy, Metallic etc etc etc).
The Machines used (Noritsu's and Fuji's usually) are usually what denotes the quality. Most lab operators wont sit there and manually adjust Yellow, Magenta, Cyan and Density corrections on all orders unless its a special request or something like that. Its time consuming and usually the cost doesnt account for the labor of it.
Noritsu systems can run 2 different softwares QSS or DLS. DLS giving much superior quality due to the color algorithms. You wont find many stores in Canada running DLS. Lots in the states.
Fuji's tend to give you stronger greens. Noritsu's with QSS need a lot of babysitting for quality. There is a lot of calibration's to be done daily. If the Noritsu's are properly taken care of by the operators, the quality should be VERY good. Its not the manual touchups as much as the Daily Setup's being done and the Chemical control strips. Any High Volume stores no matter what machine, should probably produce comparible prints. Fuji's better on Greens, Noritsu's Better with Yellows and removing dust/scratches from negatives.

So do you use a small lab for important/commercial prints, and if so how does the price compare especially for 5x7 and 8x10 sizes?

I just had some 5 x 7 portrait pics printed via costco photo. I uploaded the file (after color correcting in Photoshop) and the order was ready the next day for pick up (Abbotsford B.C.). I was pretty happy with the results (colors not bad, although lost some contrast detail in the blacks). I did not choose the Auto correction option, however, my order label said "Auto Correction: Yes" so I am not sure how that happened. The oder was printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper.

I uploaded 42 pictures on their website with a 7 megapixel cameral with some compression. It took about 1 minute per photo to upload. Uploaded at 10pm and it was ready by noon the next day, even though they say by 3pm. You get an email when it is actually ready to pick up. Quality is good for the price, the colours are good and there is a bit of contract issues but can't complain at that price. As other poster said, it is on Fuji paper, I think they used Kodak paper before.

The only stores that run 2 machines that I know of are high volume Walmarts. They will use a 2nd machine during peak times to output the volume. Photo Chemistry goes bad if just left idle. A good store will produce all prints at a very high quality. Not a special machine for special needs.

If your just printing 4x6's you dont need to upload a 7mp image. You need just 2.2mp. This would save you some upload time, plus if its pre cropped you dont have to work on the pictures on the website saving you that time as well.
Just a suggestion.

I had not bad results with 401 & Dufferin, and Markham Costco. 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 were not bad, but nothing to rave about either. B&W 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10 prints had too much colour cast to them. 12x18 colour and B&W printed at Markham Costco were better, quite nice actually.
The results from Newmarket Costco were terrible, even after reprinting by supervisor on the following day.
Sadly, my $100 Epson printer with Radioshack bulk ink produced better results.
Files were edited and adequate enough to produce great results. Sadly the prints were not a good indication of what the print machines are actually capable of.
I can recommend Markham and North York Costco labs, but not the Newmarket one.

Since the Easy Uploader uses the ActiveX Control to upload 100 photo at a time, you need to use Internet Explorer.
But I find that the "Costco Photo Organizer' is easy to use. It is a free download. It is intalled on your computer. You run this program to upload photo without using the uploader at photo center web page. It is quick. It is easy.
