My story is last year in july I made an improper left at about 3 in the morning and got hit by 2 cars. No one was hurt but two of the cars were written off. I was in an old van, 89 GMC cargo van and two maybe late 80's early ninties sedans. Anyway, my dad was pissed because I was 20 at the time and I guess that right away ruined any chance that I was going to have cheap insurance.

My dad arranged for me to fight the ticket in court, so in febuary during school I got a letter about it, wrote in on my calender and left it, because the date wasnt until june, now today i got a letter saying i was convicted because i missed the court date because I wrote the date doewn wrong. So now i have 2 demerit points, the improper move ticket to pay which is $115 and the accident from last year.

I don't know whats going to happen to insurance because I'm insured under my dad, but when he finds out later today hes gonna be really pissed, is there anyone that can guess what will happen, or someway i can find out without letting the insurance company know what happened right away? Oh and i have my g2 which is about to expire, should i just forget about it and let my license expire or pass the G test?

the ticket is a non issue really. i'm assuming its your first ticket, insurance wont care about it.

even if you wont the ticket in court, you will still be at fault in the accident so to the insurance, you are still the one at fault regardless of what the court finds you.

Yea it was my first ticket, so my insurance went up from the day the claim was made? Someone told me the insurance goes up as soon as your convicted of the offense or something... Im really worried about this because it looks all my dream of driving around as a student with not alot of money has gone down the drain >:(

Pay the fine, go get your G license and learn from your mistakes.

Why in the hell would you let your G2 expire? Then you would have to start over with your G1 again.

You're obviously not thinking clearly or you wouldn't have even considered that.

Well i decided not to let my G2 expire i set a road test date for 3 weeks, i told my dad about the ruling, he wasn't happy, but before paying he said i should try to appeal... so i guess i have to go and try to do that now... all this over one mistake, i hate driving now  it seems like all that money paid to young drivers is down the drain as well because whatever insurance discount i would have had is worthless right?

^ I would think so as you have two "convictions" in the insurance company's eyes. Taking YD or a driving course gives you the equivalent of 3 years of driving experience, which I think you've in effect lost.
