Does anyone know where i could get a japanese SUV like the honda pilot in mississauga for about 100 dollars or less?
I prefer the brand name rental companies over mom and pop shops.
I need to travel to the USA and would need unlimited km per day.
Anyone know of a reasonable rate with the above conditions?

Off the top of my head Alamo, Avis, and Hertz have unlimited mileage and travel into the USA. But none of them usually carry Japanese vehicles.
I know Enterprise & Discount are fond of Nissans and Hondas. But they don't allow travel into the US with unlimited mileage.
Try booking from the Airport location, they usually have a better selection of vehicles. But ask to have it delivered to a location outside the GTAA compound as to avoid the airport surchage.
Expect anywhere from $30-99 a day depending on the dates you choose and whether or not you have any promotional codes.

I've Rented a Dodge Durango from Thrifty last year,
since i was the only 25 years old, and others were under,
so Thrifty was the only place that is willin' to rented out to me...
Newayz,
i've got a 7 passenger Durango, it was a V8....i find that
it's not powerful enough buti have 6 passengers,
and i feel i was basically dumpin' gas while drivin'.....that hugh piece
of s*** j/ eats too much gas.... i say, if you can stay away
from huge a$$ american SUVs...

^ I can relate. Last Sept my family made a trip down to Chicago - we had a Toyota Highlander and we rented a Durango.
When it came time to refill the tanks, each car would have a similar amount of fuel left, but the Highlander would stop after a couple of minutes of filling, but the Durango would keep on going. I can still remember the look on my dad's face when the counter on the gas pump crossed over the $50.00 US mark. Priceless.
All said and done though, it was a very comfortable car, and in hindsight it's gas consumption was THAT bad. It's no Highlander, but from what I experienced on that trip, I'd buy one if it wasn't A) American, B) such a monstrosity and C) so damned ugly looking
:)
(Oh, this was based on this past September '05. I think gas was still around $0.70-$0.80 a litre, and gas was marginally cheaper in the US - $2.25 or so a US Gallon)

haha...that's soooo true...I would NEVER touch a american car if I can help it...2 years ago...when we rented this PT Cruiser....I can actually SEE the fuel indicator arrow moving while driving!! ****ing piece of junk...wasted so much gas...
Their Ford Five Hundred is a piece of junk too! I was so impressed with the size (because I like big cars) but the freaking seat is SMALLER than the Corolla! it's not comfortable at all! and I don't wanna get started with the gas comsumption and the noise...v6 with 203hp my a$$...so weak...

I rented a trailblazer or something similar last year while in the states through priceline. It came to less than $40 a day. Worked out great lugging all our stuff.

Enterprise is good for letting you choose cars, we've rented a SUV from them once in Maryland and we got the Mitsubishi Endeavor and the other time in LA, we got to pick so we got a Nissan Murano. Both are pretty nice and roomy SUV for 5 people, even when you are sitting behind a very tall driver still lots of room in the back

I rented a ford explorer eddie bauer from avis for a trip to washington last year and here is what i thought
+ roomy for 7 passengers althought not too much room for luggage
+ very comfortable seats
+ very safe, we got rear ended by a pathfinder and that car was in bad shape
+ engine was powerful enough for 7 guys plus luggage
- massive gas guzzler, we had to stop like every 3.5-4 hours to fill like US $60 worth of gas
