Ouch... I've found a couple hundred worth of phones too... a Razr and a t610.

T610's SIM was locked and fried by the time I got my hands on it though, so it's the owners fault there. The razr I guess I could have made more of an effort to return. They cussed me out (well, my friend as I left the phone in his posession) though so **** 'em.

Wow, you found a Razr and you didnt return it even though you knew who lost it... Ppl get pissed off when they lose there stuff, Just cause they cuss your friend out doesnt mean you should keep it.. They probably thought u stole it or something...Well looks like u stole it in the end....I hope you lose a cell phone one day and no one returns it.....tsk tsk ,,, ppl like you, say they "found" a phone when they see someone leaving a phone, instead of telling them they quicky put it in their pockets and leave, and claim innocence later....

Actually, I found it on the floor at a club. So like I said, I could have given it to security (which probably would have pocketed it) or perhaps asked 200 teenagers if they lost a $300+ phone? I'm sure they'd all be quite honest aswell.

**** happens. If you cant keep an eye on your own stuff (or better yet, keep it from jumping out of your pockets) then eventually you're going to have to learn from your mistakes.

Excuses. Why not just call the last # they dialed, or wait for them to call you. I'm sure if someone lost their cell, one of the first things they'd do is call it.

you do realize its pretty much equivalent to stealing if you don't make a reasonable effort to return it right?

this is good news... i fully support this.
its time to fight back any wood-be theifs and make them feel hurt so anyone who wants to try to steal something, will understand what concequences they may face if caught..

I would be pissed to if i found a phone, and attempted to return it only to get cussed out by the owner. I'm not saying keeping it was right, but what would you hav done if you were in that situation?

If I found a phone at a club, I would NOT give it to security (cuz they might pocket it) I would keep it :D

Well, actually, I'd take it... call *611 and report that I found the phone, in which the provider could probably take it and give it back to the owner or something of the sort. As nice as it would be to get a "free" phone I would like it if someone returned my phone (if I lost it) so I wouldn't feel right keepig it heh.

I would return the phone. I returned someone's wallet to them when I found it back in university, refused the $10 he offered me when I gave it to him, but took him up on lunch from edo.

I did find a cell phone a few years back while doing road condition surveys with the city. Phone was dead but had a telus sticker by the serial number so I dropped it off at the telus store.

I actually dropped my checkbook out of my backpack when running for the bus when I first moved to edmonton back in 1994. Someone left it in my mailbox in a sealed envelope later that day saying I should be more careful.

Good deeds pay for themselves.

You guys who keep stuff you can obviously find and return to the rightful owner will have karma catch up with you.

Your car will be stolen, your significant other will cheat on you and give you stds and you will get fired from your job...

Don't make generalizations about security. Ya, some of us sometimes take bribes, yes, some of us sometimes do things that we shouldn't, but the same can be said about any type of person.

Personally, working as security at a club, I have always returned lost cell phones and wallets. As soon as one is turned into me, I make a radio call to all radios informing them that if anyone reports having lost the item, to send the person straight to me. I then proceed to ask them about the items. In case of a wallet, I ask for name and other such info that can be verified.

I'm not saying all security is bad.. I'm just saying there are those that would keep it, so I'm better off just calling the provider. Sorry, no offense against security was intended.
