I was just wondering if I am the only person who still irons her clothes. I inquired about bringing an iron while I travel to iron my clothes and was told that hardly anyone irons their clothes anymore. Everyone wears their clothes all wrinkled? I iron my clothes and fold it and then put them away until I wear them. Like I iron my tees and pants and stuff.

It's better to hang your clothing after you have ironed them, especially if you won't be wearing them for a while.

Yup, I still iron my clothing.

Lenny: I wonder what it'd be like to wear something that's been ironed.

I don't iron, well maybe. I just take my washed clothes and throw them somewhere. Then I get screamed at, then I iron it.

Stores are selling shirts that come wrinkled at the factory.

I still iron my button-up shirts and pants. Sometimes wrinkles look stupid.

Good for you! So do you also so shower semi-annually? Do you wash your dishes in the shower as well! And brush your teeth in the kitchen sink!

Yup, I iron most of my clothes (especially the work clothes) after I take them out of the dryer. Then I keep them on hangers to keep them wrinkle free. I don't however, pack an iron while travelling. I use the roll method of packing my bag, so most of the clothes stay wrinkle-free. When I get to the destination (hotel/cruiseship), I unpack and hang them up immediately.

I iron my long sleeve collared button shirts for work.

I don't iron my pants as they are wrinkle-free. Just wash and hang to dry and they are perfectly straight !

Thank goodness, one less thing to iron.

I used to iron my shirts religiously and got heat blisters on my hand to show for my trouble... after 10-15 min. of ironing.

After a long commute in to work, the *^*&^ shirt has wrinkles anyways.

What I recently started to try was having them pressed at a dry cleaners'.
$1.20 per shirt I think.

Not very RFDish, I know, but I want the shirt to be wrinkle-free when I put it on, and I'm no longer interested in burning my hand or wasting an hour ironing clothes.

Wrinkley clothes is the fashion of the age. My clothes are also very self efficient; I never have to iron them once they come out of the dryer.

I don't iron. The cycle is:

dirty clothes goes to the laundry basket.
When my laundry basket is full, Clothes to the washer. Clothes to the dryer.
When I need clean clothes, open the dryer, takes out what I need. Close the dryer.
Clean clothes stay in the dryer until the dryer needs to be used for other family member's clothes. Then, ... I have to take them out and fold them.

Similiar sequence for the dishes in kitchen. ;)

So if I take my stuff out immediately when the dryer's done and hang what I don't want to be wrinkly it will look like it's been ironed??

I can't imagine myself wearing non-ironed clothes lol.

Yes, for jeans, some t-shirts, casual/docker/khaki pants. If you let them sit, the wrinkles will stay. It doesn't work for dress shirts and polos though.

yeah, I iron my clothes. that is - I iron my daily clothes. I work retail sand so I really dont give a **** what I look like there, so that stuff I dont iron. Infact, the only things I do Iron are my tee-shirts/dress-shirts and pants.

I only iron them because my mom leaves my clothed all crumpled up, so by the time they get up to my room they're all wrinkly. I used to not care, but Ironed clothes (or those folded immidiatly out of the dryer) are so much more comfortable and look much better aswell.

I only do if they're atrociously wrinkled, and I'm nowhere near a dryer for a fluff cycle. Oh, and I do the crease in my dress pants.

I first see if I can spread out the wrinkles with body heat... or rubbing it.

If that doesn't work then I gotta take it off and iron it :( Yah, pretty lazy but sometimes it works!

I've never brought an iron on vacation though. Usually hotels have one or borrow the family members.

 My wife and I tend to forget clothes in the dryer for days... it's not as bad now that our boy is at the daycare and gets super dirty every day... we do laundry a lot more frequently.

but these days... there are those wrinkle free khakis! and they actually work... They dont wrinkle as easy. They stay perfect if u hang dry it.

oh also you shouldn't place all your clothes in the dryer, the dryer does a lot of damage (i.e. wear and tear) with the heat on clothing.

I try to hang dry most of my clothes, like khakis, dress shirts, pants etc.

I also hang dry my Nike Dri-Fit and athletic wear.

Every since I have been hang drying my clothing, I find that my clothing has lasted way longer. No more wearing out of the pants, especially cotton pants. I used to find the ends of my leg pants and areas around the pockets fraying really quickly.

Same with the Dri-Fit. They used to pill and wear out so quickly but really, you don't need to dry these types of clothing since they lose moisture so quickly.

I haven't ironed a thing in years, I just wear it wrinkly.
I find that clothes seem to iron themselves out with enough wear.

It seems from this thread that most of the guys on RFD are lazy. I used to iron everything, but I bought a steamer and it's made the task way easier.

I'm not sure how to iron. It spits and hisses, and seems to run out of water fast. Also, the iron is dirty or rusty 'cuz I have ironed white linen and it turned brown. Or maybe I burned it? And also, there's no room to iron because the ironing board is in the wall in the kitchen and it's a hassle to pull it out because I would have to move the kitchen table. Also, I have to use an ironing cloth on some fabrics, and that seems like it doesn't take out the wrinkles. Also, if I finished ironing stuff, there's no place to hang it since all the closets are jam packed.

I try to hang stuff up when it comes out of the dryer, but that rarely happens. Yeah, motels have irons and ironing boards, so why pack something that bulky?

Depends. If it's horrifically krinkled I iron it.

But I hang dry my clothes and fold them neatly when I'm done. Usually with Cotton clothing I don't need to iron them and it looks nice.

However, when I want to dress neatly, I iron all dress shirts and pants.
