Does anyone know if sony will release a PSP with a hard drive? im trying to decide whether to buy a portable media player (archos av500 or creative zen vision or cowon a2). PSP plays games which is the only plus if i buy it. i dont want to keep buying pro duo cards as they are expensive. or are there other alternatives with regards to more disc space for PSP?

I highly doubt they'll release a HDD for the PSP. And even if they do, I think the PSP is limited to accessing only upto 4GB of data (and 4GB MSPD cards exist)

well not really, it's their console so they could right a firmware to support more than 4gb, which might be the case once they come out with 8gb MS.
But I highly doubt they would release a PSP with a hard drive, simply put right now the battery life is already average, if you add a HDD it will be much worse.

if you want to get a portable media player because of the storage and mostly for watching stuff, go with an archos.

They do have that 4gig HD/Battery pack, but it's not much better than a 4 gig Memory stick. I doubt they'd ever pack a HD in there just due to size constraints and pricing. They'd have to charge PS3-eqse prices for a PSP with an HD and decent battery life :P

Highly doubtful at this point. THe PSP is already a premium over the DS plus you can get 4GB pro duos if you really need the space.
