Hey all.
Does anyone know of a board that supports the dual core Opteron 165 and has AGP (not PCI-E)? I don't want the ASRock.
If someone knows of an nforce3 that does support both items, pls post here :).

I tried googling but it's mainly hearsay.

Opteron 165 is socket 939 and as far as I can tell, only nforce4 boards support that. Nforce3 boards are socket 754 only.

Update: nm, I did some checking and it appears there are a few nforce3 939 boards out there.

DFI makes one of these boards, they are generally a decent brand. Good support. As does Gigabyte.

I've heard some sketchy things about nforce3 though... and I can't think non-standard configs are going to be terribly fun. I don't think there's dual channel memory support in nforce3 boards, although I'm not sure what the case is with these hybrid boards.

I take it you already have a really nice AGP card and don't want to have to make a huge switch?

i'd just jump right into nforce4 or even the new nforce4 590...why stay behind on technology when you are already purchasing a new cpu?

you'll regret not buying pci-e when you do your next upgrade because agp is done for...

It's not for me.
A buddy just bought the ATI X800XL AIW deal from FS and he needs an AGP board with opteron support.
We're getting the Opteron 165 from the US for "only" $265 US.

MSI K8N Neo2. It would probably require running the latest BIOS though.

Yes, it works on nForce3. I'm using an Opteron 165 & a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, latest BIOS.

Thanks all.
We'll hunt down an MSI board then.

why dont you want the asrock ULI board? Ive heard nothing but good reviews, and I cant think of a better overclocker with an NF3 or K8T800 chipset...
