Just get your notary to watch you sign it, but if you don't have time for the possibility of a rejected passport, go get your driver's license changed.

It does make a diffrence. I used to work with the passport office and I would have to tell people they were rejected becuase their signitures didn't match. This was a main problem for people who used their SIN card as their secondary ID, and it was signed when they were 13 years old. If you can tell it looks like the same person you will be okay, but if it is really diffrent it can be regected. It is sadly 100% up to the individual examiner.

I was just wondering also...I have never been able to get my signatures identical every time I sign (sometimes noticibly different), and it makes me worried, because if a legal issue arises and I have to fall back on a contract or something, and I give a sample of my signature which doesn't completely match....
Does this happen to anyone else, and is it normal?
