my lcd tv has a humming sound.. is that normal???

hi.. anyone else have a high pitch humming sound from their LCD tv or monitor???

Verify that the refresh rate is correct. Ensure that you have the correct monitor (drivers) loaded, and that the settings match those in the manual.

EDIT: Oops, I misread LCD as CRT. This probably won't be the problem, although you should check if the correct drivers are loaded in case there is some conflict there. You might have a bad monitor on your hands.

Neither my laptop's LCD, girlfriend's desktop LCD, nor her LCD TV make that sound. However, I have owned a number of PDAs that make a high pitched whine (I think it's got something to do with the backlight) and none of them died on me.
