I checked xbox-scene but its a little convoluted for my tastes.

I'm looking to softmod what I THINK is a ver 1.6 Xbox.

Thanks.

You can get the Krayzie ndure softmod install which automates a lot of the steps involved.

Here's a good tute (http://www.biline.ca/xbox_uxe.htm) on using it.

Good luck, modded Xbox's are great :D

I used the SoftMod Installer Deluxe to mod one and then the Auto Installer Deluxe to put on a dash of choice. Spent like 12 hours reading and researching and like five minutes doing it. Seriously, it was anti-climatic...

You'll need a way to copy save games on to a memory card (Game shark or the like) and one of three games, one of which I was able to rent at Blockbuster.

I did it for XBMC; that is such an amazing program, it adds so much life to the Xbox.

Sorry for the newbie question, but does a softmod act in the same way as installing a mod chip?

Also, does it allow for the console's video selection from PAL-NTSC and vice versa?
