If you have some good insights, it would be great to share your opinion for those thinking of starting a business but not knowing what to devote their efforts to.

This is a pretty vague question. Some of the things to consider are how much time, money, expertise and energy you have.

Ebay is a possibility.
Franchises like Apple Auto Glass could cost you around $75,000 whereas a Jiffy Lube will cost you about $200,000.
Creating your own concept is rewarding but the risks may be greater.

However, the facts are:
- population is aging - larger type sizes req'd, things than easily be handled by those with arthritis etc req'd, financial services, real estate services, legal services
- population is more "home-centric" - home renovations etc.
- population is more diverse - ethnic/gender/sexual orientation/language/culture-specific products/services...

Focus on what you love and it will not be considered "work".
