Picked up two of these at my local Walmart for $79/each. Simple, comfy and fun. Watched 'Top Gear' on them with my DivX DVD player plugged into them - car engines sound great!

Each come with 2 RCA patch cords, 2 couplers, Mini->Stereo RCA adapter (for Ipods, etc) and a power supply. The chairs can be daisy chained for the audio and have seperate bass/volume controls along with a headset jack.

Official Website Here (http://www.thexrocker.com/)

Seemed like a good deal to me and lots of fun...

Wow looks like a neat toy. Got a couple of questions.
How's the sound quality? If they sound like tv speaker, than I'd rather pass.
Guess this chair would be suitable for games and music, can't imagine myself hooking this up to watch movies. The rca are huge and it only goes so far, unless you enjoy glueing your face to the tv.

edit: forgot to mention, the wireless version is due out in 2006 (according to their website)

So who do they have? Gene Simmons? Mick Jagger? Do we get to pick?

looks pretty neat.. i'm gonna pick one up and try it out. i'm just worried about the sound quality that can be achieved from these chairs. I'll simply return it if it doesnt sound too great :D

Haha. These are funny. Reminds me of the Cirque du Solei chairs.

The one problem I can see with these is that you can't lean back on them.

I bought one for my youngest sons birthday. It rated quite high in the cool factor. My oldest son was very jealous about it and now wants one for his birthday :cheesygri Sound quality is not bad and the sub rumbles the seat pretty good when explosions go off.
The one I bought was not in a box. It fit easily in the trunk of my Neon.

This would make a great bday gift idea. I got no space for it in my room but good to know it's available for decent price.

I assume the $79 is regular and not rollback price? Rollback price is their "sale" price for a month

These have been on sale for $79 for quite some time. The fiancee, nearly picked me one up for Christmas. They look and feel pretty solid...

okay i stopped by 2 wal-marts this morining looking for this chair "x-rocker" and found none.

i did however find that both had stock on a "v-rocker" which appears very similar but on the website the op provided i noticed that the x-rocker can fold away but the v-rocker didn't seem to have a hinge anywhere that i could see to allow it to fold down. this stickers on it also didn't mention this a feature though i didn't list much. the v-rocker is also stickered priced at $79.99.

this may be perhaps a lower model or older model and i was just wondering if the op is certain he got an x-rocker and not the v-rocker?

quality wise it looks comfy but i'm worried about the speakers. already some of the speaker shields were loose and some had rips at the stitching but i guess for such a low price you're getting quite a bit. a chair and a sound system in one. i might still pick one up i wasn't sure. i'm gonna check one more wal-mart for the x-rocker but i hope to hear back from others and the op before i head out.

are these chairs comfortable and were these in the games, toys or furniture section?I find them to be quite comfortable. I'm 6'2" by the way. The chairs were in the furniture area of Walmart and did not come in any boxes. The cables came in plain brown boxes with a pen written description on each.

I honestly expected a price of at least $100 so was very surprised to here $79. I also expected either some wires to be missing or a speaker not to work. But again I was pleasantly surprised to have all the cables and everything works great.

And yes... they can get pretty loud when fed a decent source and sound quality is quite good for what they are.

Since I bought two, there is obviously a significant difference in the sound experience when there is another chair directly beside you as opposed to using one alone. This is due to the side alignment of the speakers on the chair.

Lots of fun!

I just dropped by and found one at the Morningside and 401 WM. I have seen the non-speaker ones before as well. I didn't buy it since I have need for it, nor do I want to pay $80.
The chair itself looks like it could fit in a car trunk, possibly with the rear seats folded.

hmm
i work at WM and have never seen these lol
i know the one i'm at (Burnhamthorpe/Erin Mills Pkwy in Mississauga.....aka South Common Centre) doesn't have them
your best bet is to call your Wal-Mart in advance
if OP can put the UPC, you can easily call in and find out if they have them in stock or if they're getting any
but for $79, doesn't seem like a bad deal.

Please do not buy this...

A couple of reasons... I know it will seem wierd, but sit in it in store... It is EXTREMEMLY uncomfortable for anyone over 5'

Another reason is the issue of reliability. I know walmart is great when it comes to exchanges and returns, but I bought one, and it didn't work, and I exchanged it, for another one that DIDN'T work, and Then I thought third time is a charm, and it worked for a day, and never again. Thankfully, walmart was good about it and gave me a full refund.

I figured that if none of the ones I got worked fine, even if I were to find one that worked, it would die pretty soon.

If you really seem to need this or something similar, I've heard that there is a really good iPod compatible one, and isn't that expensive. If I find a link, I will stick it in the edit!

Thanks!

My 10 yr old kid has a non speaker version of this chair.
I picked it up for $20 at Crappy Tire in Richmond Hill when they sold off all of their orphan junk after their store move.

It's good for a 10yr old!

did you check the sticker on the chair? did it say x-rocker or v-rocker. the v-rockers i saw today all included speakers. same as the x-rocker but it was a different model name.

i just want some clarification from those that have seen or bought the chair at wal-mart, did the sticker on the chair itself specifically say "x-rocker."?

all the ones i've seen have had a "v-rocker" sticker.

I work at Wal-Mart and these have been out for awhile, my location I believe has sold out so as a previous poster said it's best to call in to check for stock. They are located in Furniture. And they are indeed the V-Rocker not the X-Rocker.

all the ones i've seen have had a "v-rocker" sticker. It's extremely confusing.

The sticker on the chairs I bought indeed say VRocker and in fact you get a cool blue VRocker logo on the side of the chair when you turn it on.

However, the manufacturing tag attached to the chair mentions the company "Ace Bayou" out of New Orleans which is the same company mentioned on the XRocker website.

Yet the chairs DO NOT fold like the chairs shown on the XRocker website. They are very similar loooking though aside from the subwoofer air port being aligned differently.

ah thank you confirmation!

though i was going mad since everyone here didn't even notice this despite the large stickers on the chairs.

a big selling point to me was the folding away part. it seems these don't fold at all. i can't have this chair just sitting 24/7 in the middle of my room. guess i'm gonna pass...sigh it looked very promising since i almost always end up sitting on the floor while playing games on my consoles.

maybe if i can find somewhere to put it while its not in use....lol trying to convince myself i need it... :cheesygri

well, it's not like it's a "final sale no refund" type at WM

i'm sure if u bought it at WM and didn't like it, u shouldn't have any prblms getting a full refund...
