Hi all,

I'm selling software (source code) to a company and would like to compose a license agreement/contract. Anyone know any decent lawyers for this kind of work? It's a little urgent --

Thanks.

Call the Law Society of Upper Canada (http://www.lsuc.on.ca/public/) @ 1-900-565-4LRS (4577) for a referral. This will cost you $6. You want someone that specializes in IP (intellectual property). Here are Intellectual Property Law Specialists (http://www.lsuc.on.ca/public/a/directory-of-certified-specialists/) Even though you're pressed for time, you want to do it right.

Ryan Mills - rwmills04@rogers.com

He's a lawyer who does business law, located in Toronto. I forget which firm he's from, he was an instructor of mine at Sheridan College recently.

Thanks guys.

I called some IP lawyers and most take $400/hour -- I guess because they usually deal with big companies. Considering the software sale is around $10,000 -- I'm thinking I'll just google some samples and create and agreement/contract myself.

Thanks though.

I did something similar before and hired some law professor to do it as freelance. The cost was cheaper and flat rate although quality was not perfect, but still better than writing it myself.
