If you're an IT Professional with 20 minutes to spare, TestSpin.com, an online survey company, will send you a $10 Amazon.ca gift certificate if you qualify for and complete their survey. They are looking for IT staffers and IT Decision Makers from small, medium and large size companies in Canada. The qualifications they are looking for are pretty specific and only those who qualify will be able to complete the survey and get the gift certificate. They are looking for a few hundred completed surveys.
Here's the link:
http://www.testspin.com/go/110/1573
I've been told that the gift certificates will go out in 4-6 weeks to those who complete the survey

I was able to succesfully complete the survey.
At the end, they ask for your email, that's it.
So i'll just have to wait and see if they actually do send it to me.

They're pretty strict, so you have to answer a bunch of questions before you qualify or not.

That's awesome, this survey collects information about people who make IT decisions and tells you that your not qualified?
Great resource for headhunters who make killings on marrying people with jobs.

They key question for qualifying appears to be:
How would you rate your level of responsibility for planning and/or managing desktop operating systems?
If you say you have no responsibilty you get a DNQ if you put something from the midline up you continue with more questions.

That's BS
I put that I am in charge for planning and/or managing desktop operating systems. And I still got DNQ'd

Sorry, but that's a joke. No pre-qualification, asks the questions anyway, makes a BS "You've been entered in the sweepstakes" comment at the end with OBVIOUSLY no chance of that being true.
Shame on you for posting that crap. I hope the people that are "qualified" appreciate the $10GC, but I'm guessing the vast majority are just being culled for data by a company that doesn't care if they actually LIE to the people the reach.

Don't bother. This is a SCAM.
I completed the ENTIRE SURVEY (not just the "qualifying questions".. which, in and of itself, is BS IMO.. waste time and get nothing for it??!) and DID NOT get asked for my e-mail address.
This is a SCAM, and unless I am properly compensated for my time for doing this survey, I will not change my view.

How do you explain the fact that I did not get asked for my e-mail address AFTER I COMPLETED THE *ENTIRE* SURVEY ??
I was supposed to receive a $10 gift card as compensation for my time in completing the survey. I completed the survey, but will not be receiving the gift card.. that's a scam in my books.

Survey is now over. You'll see that's it's not a scam when you receive the $10 GC. Just give it a 4 - 6 weeks :)

How can I receive the gift card when they never asked me for my e-mail address?
The fact is, I completed the entire survey (not just the qualifying questions), and did not get asked for my e-mail (meaning, I won't receive the gift card..).

That's one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. :)
Personally, I think the whole process is a load of bollocks, and I'm sorry to see RFD mods working with people like this. Sorry for the jedi as well, what a waste of time for you.

That's one of the funniest things I've read in a long time.
Jedi considers it a scam solely because he wasn't asked for his email address.
Others have been asked for their email addresses.
Thus, by Skywalker's own criteria - it's not a scam.

It's not a scam, but it definitely sucks. AFAIK most people who filled it out are getting nothing.

The gift certificates are going out Monday apparently.
They needed specific number of people from different segments (ie some from small business, some from bigger companies, etc.), so that's why some who are in IT might not have qualified depending on what point they entered. There were lots of qualifying questions, so even if you answered quite a few and didn't qualify, you probably didn't do the full survey.

Has anyone else had problems with these Amazon.ca gift certificates?
I, as well as someone else I know, have been told by Amazon.ca that these are invalid gift card numbers.

I tried using my code last night. Amazon states the code is invalid. I sent Amazon an email and the reply simply said something like "Sorry your code is invalid, please contact TestSpin.com. For security reasons, we can't help you any further."
So...what now. Maybe we should all just send testspin.com a nice email.??

Hm. So far only one person has claimed the code works. Anyone else had success?
Just took a look at the order from which I used this, as well as the e-mail that contained the GC code. It says in small print:
"Amazon Gift certificates must be redeemed through their Web site, http://www.amazon.com, toward the purchase of products listed in Amazon.com's online catalog and sold by Amazon.com. They cannot be redeemed at Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.jp or any other Web site operated by Amazon.com, its affiliates, or third-party merchants accessible from their site (including, for example, their Health & Beauty store operated by drugstore.com). Gift certificates are not valid for payment at Amazon.com Marketplace, Auctions or zShops."
I wonder if that's why some people are having problems. Still, the order I applied it to (it was an existing order that was still pending shipping) was with .ca, so I have no idea why it would have worked for me.
