I'm coming back to Ontario for the summer. I have heard that you need to use booster seats in cares for kids that are seven or under AND under 80 pounds.

Are these the correct parameters? Is it only in Ontario? How much do these seats cost? Can you rent them or buy used ones somewhere?

Thanks for any input you can provide.

You could just buy a new one and then sell it for $20-$25 at the end of the summer if you don't need it anymore.

Check a garage sale for a used one, but they aren't that much new.

In Quebec, a child must use a booster seat, regardless of age or weight, until he measures 2 ft from the bottom of the bum to the top of the head. The purpose of the seat is to ensure the lap belt goes over the shoulder and not across the neck, where it could choke him in case of accident. The booster seats are for the child's safety, I recommend you use them even if your country does not require them.
