Arrested for what? underaged drinking? driving to the post office or mailbox while drunk?

Why would the cops arrest someone over a letter?

It really depends on what you wrote in the letter... you didn't make any death threats did you? :|

You lied to a police officer? You know they only ask questions they already know the answer to. Seams like they are just building a strong enough case for trial. When they came to your house they might have lifted your prints off of something you touched when you weren't looking. You should get a lawyer and turn yourself in so you can get a plee bargin and the D.A. might take pitty on you and reduce your sentence.

Good job brains.

You should have told the cops to hold on a second while you went and drank some more liquid courage.. then you could have told them how you really feel!

We don't live in the US pal.

D.A.? I don't think so. They are called Crown Prosecutors.

If they're asking, that means you didn't sign it or put a return address. And I don't think they're going to put much effort into finding out who sent a stupid letter. I've got a neighbour who I believe is mentally ill, with some sort of antisocial disorder. She sweeps the curb at 4am, builds entire fences overnight, runs at strangers with her car, and squirts people walking by with her garden hose. I wouldn't mind writing her a letter, with a little something extra.

this is the strangest thing ive heard someone do when they are drunk.

you have no recallaction what was said in the letter ?

and as someone else said, your in bigger doodoo because you lied to a police officer.

i got drunk one nite & wrote a nasty letter & mailed it to him..that was a few wks ago (i dont even remember doing it),,but i know i did b/c the cops came to my door & asked if I had sent it?

that makes no sense whatsoever.

what makes you think you did it then if you dont remember ? just because the cops asked you if you did it ?

troll? 1 post.

like HughG says.

drunk writing letter? and you mailed it with stamp while drunk? unlikely
and you remember none of this?

call the cop back and ask him if the letter has anything to do with the fertilizer bomb you are building.

Fine, the OP should work a plee with the Crown Prosecutors. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a non-descript utility Van parked infront of his house.

I think that sums it up.

The police would've arrested him/her if they knew who wrote the letter  They are probably scouring the neighborhood, wondering who did it.

Meanwhile, if any of us contact the police right now, minniemouse goes directly to jail and does not pass go due to the online confession. There's probably only 1 or 2 kids that answered the door and gave that response. They'd figure it out in minutes.

You forgot the rules of drinking:

Never send messages of any sort - Emails, PMs, Snailmail, Text message, etc. They never work for you
Dont call any family or girlfriends

If you cant handle the drink, dont drink so damn much.

Just fess up, you're not doing to get charged or anything, you're simply over hyping the actions of what you did. Think of it logically.

Tell the police, you were drunk, you stupidly mailed a message, thats it.

Everyone has been drunk before, no court will ruin you for the rest of your life because you sent a letter.

It could become a Murder investigation. The police could match his prints and come back with a search warrant. Who knows what they might find in this guys basement? He's admitted to mailing hate mail, he could also be mailing pipe bombs or anthrax letters to the media. I don't think the OP has seen the last of the Police at his door.

...I'm just trying to scare a good kid straight ;)
