Matt Morrell scammed me - i paid for the ipod video and he immediately blocked me, and then ignored all emails and didn't send anything to me...am taking appropriate legal and administrative action atm...will update as info comes in...

but pretty much I paypalled him as he requested, he guaranteed to ship next day, was good to communicate all the way through on MSN - (always available online) - and then once the money went into his paypal, he stopped all communications, didn't answer my numerous emails, and I never saw him online MSN again.

BEWARE!

why the hell would you let it go??? If you've ever had something stolen from you, you feel very very violated and of course would want revenge. Also this guy did a very bad thing taking money, he should deserve more punishment than just giving back the money.

If somebody broke into your house, held your family up with a gun, then took $100,000. Then later returned the $100,000 and was set free of charge, that wouldnt serve justice with you, would it?

First and foremost, wrong forum.
Then Batman chill the hell out, we are talking about a lowlife who took the money from someone, not a crazy gangsta with an uzi.
But you should get that bastard nevertheless

sorry but if you've ever had something taken from you, you feel really violated. And for me this wasnt too long ago(try 2 days), so im still extremely angry of any thing being stolen

i feel your pain - i hope that justice is served in your case too

with regards to letting it go - i'm just trying to make this community a better place for everyone and establish a name for myself - i figure if this sets a precedent (filing legal action along with police documentation, paypal report and credit card report) not only will it punish him and reclaim my money but it will also keep people on the board here more honest.

Paypal could only retrieve the money if he has money in the account or registered a credit card...if you paid by CC thru Paypal then do a chargeback...filing police charges is waste of time...anything below $1000 they will take a report but never follow thru..there isnt enought man power for them to do so...thats why I always do my DD when buying or selling..get phone numbers, feedbacks and if possible comfirm name and address (non post office address)...good luck ...

post all his info. email/msn, address you sent money to, ip address he emailed you from, everything you have.

i'll put this out for now in hopes that he'll get his act together:
matt.morrell@hotmail.com
I have his addresss, IP and other info as well....if anyone can verify address/ip or info for me, that'd be cool.

Thanks for all the advice from everyone else - I'm doing the CC chargeback atm - paypal has sent the relevant documentation to my CC and it'll be charged back soon - paperwork with police is being filed - but I want to give them the full address, number and all information and pretty much write the case file for them so they have minimal work to do..maybe get them to file a theft under...if not, I may press a civil suit just so that he has to end up paying for everything from my legal fees to my distress.

again small claims.civil legal actions and all the legal aspects doesnt work..there is some professional scammers working alot of forums, from ghost address, names, phone numbers..I know people on Howard forums who been scammed by the same person from different IP addresses.....the only protection is the CC but even then if they have a fake identity its difficult to retrieve any funds........my position is if you cannot do a deal one to one then the deal is off...it limits my choices but at least getting scam is not my worries..

There is something you can do.

I was talking with a laywer the other day in passing and he quickly told me...

you can go infront of a justice of the peace and swear something (forget the term) which puts out a bench warrant for his arrest (you better have all his info right).

Next time he tries to get on a plane - bam - he's busted.

Now this was literally a 3 minute converstation, so forgive if I dont have the facts/ lingo straight.

For all you know that email address could be a bogus account created just for the sake of him scamming people here on RFD. Anybody with a PC and Internet can create a Hotmail account so having his MSN info is useless. But I feel your pain I lost $500 to a scammer on eBay a few years ago so I wish you luck in at least getting your money back, but the police won't help you it's a small case to them compared to what the have to deal with on a daily basis.
