I don't understand how Lundqvist is not nominated for the Calder, but yet is nominated for the Vezina...

Sure you are one of the 3 best goalies in the league...but you are not one of the 3 best rookies??
That logic doesn't make sense.

IMO he should be nominated for both..

here is my pick..

Calder - Alexander Ovechkin/Crosby....AlexO should win it by himself, but the league will make so BS excuse and give a tie award for Crosby because he is Canadian....Probably will say, since there was the strike, and no ROY was named during that year....then this year we have 2 winners.
Selke - Jere Lehtinen
Hart - Jagr will win because of NY, Joe should get it
Jack Adams - Tom Renney
Norris - Lidstrom
Lady Byng - Daysuk
Pearson - Jaromir Jagr
Vezina - Mikka Kiprusoff

i was surprised that niether redden or chara were nominated for the norris...

also, what about mezaros (sp?)...didnt he have one of the highest +/- in the league? for a rookie defenceman thats pretty good...but then again, this years rookie class was outstanding...

ssshhhh, let the nhl continue to ignore the Sens. It may be the only way we can keep all our players!!!

It's hard to argue with the 3 choices though:

- Lidstrom: Most points by a defenceman, was very solid all year
- Niedermayer: Carried the Ducks at times, played in all 82 games
- Zubov: Second most points by a defenceman, solid all year

Chara being left off isn't a surprise. He failed to rank in the top 5 in any of the big categories of goals, assists, points or +/-.

As far as Redden goes, the problem becomes, who do you take out for him? There isn't anyone there that needs to be replaced.
