Your strategy would depend on your players. Generally, you'd want a dominant guy in the paint, a lights-out shooter, and a pass-first pg who can score if needed. A good back-up wouldn't hurt either.

I'm not sure the "pass-first PG" is really an ideal fit for a half court game - I'd rather have a slashing 2 guard or small forward who can dish to your Ox or kick out to the shooter once the D collapses.
Teams can do well with 1 reasonable shooter and 2 big men, as well - not everyone can match up.

Advice to win: Go big. Have at least 2 of 3 that can dunk. Play zone defense.

back in my day we won tons of tourneys by shooting the lights out from 3 range... yeah other teams were dunking on us but we aways found ways to win. I would say get 2 great rebounders and 2 guys that can shoot the lights out. that always worked for us back in the day... we didn't play elite but a step below... i beleive that was uni/college exp level.

get 1 big man to post up
get small man to shoot threes
and a medium sized guy to do the fighting.

You'd need to get a big guy who will set a solid pick and battle down low for rebounds. A quick guard with solid range and handles would be good off pick and rolls. Then a 3-point shooter who would camp out around the three-point line and get kickouts when defenses get sucked in.
If it's teams of four, another big man would be nice.

I've had a couple of co-ed teams, and our strategy was vastly different in each. One one team, we had Laurel Johnson, who went on to play centre/forward for U of T, so she spent most of her time posting up smaller girls while we kept our defenders out of the key. (She could post up a lot of guys, too :)) On the other, we had a very short PG who could shoot the lights out, and she just distributed the ball and looked for open shots.
Some times you get stuck with a female player that is a real weak link for your team, which is a shame, but I find getting a really good female player provides more mismatches than most guys can (unless you find a 7' centre to play with you).

Get a girl who's a good shooter (most female players are) and have her shoot threes most of the time.
Posting her up if she's good would be good as well.

half court games are dominated by Single player tactics.
typical strategies are
-drive and kick it back out. This will create some room and draw in some defenders.
-Pick and roll might help.. but the space itll create will be minimal b/c its only 3 on 3 its not that hard to find a screen.
-3 on 3 depends alot of 1 on 1 play. so its up to you to create some shots. Again the drive in/kick out will be good.
If you dunno the terminology...
That just means 1 person drives to the basket. If he cant get a shot pass it back and repeat.
