Anyone watching this? I didn't see an "official" nba playoff thread..
I'm quite the suns fan (from victoria, saw steve play highschool bball) and I'm really hoping they can come back from the series deficit..
The Bell/Kobe battle is an interesting subplot to this game...
Amazing how another Laker is being investigated for sexual assault.. What's with those guys??
go Suns!

the suns just like last year's version are not a team for the playoffs. they'll win tonite to not get totally embarassed, but nash and marion have not done much at all in the playoffs.

I actually liked that. So far, the Suns have been had by Phil Jackson, using Kobe to distribute. Get into Kobe's face and let him get to this "you ain't no showing me up" mode. It will work better for the Suns

Bell will be suspended for sure. But that was one hell of a closeline! Game 6 is going to be wicked! in a good and bad way!

but nash and marion have not done much at all in the playoffs.
Talk about a clueless statement, do you even watch the games or do you base your opinion on sport highlights? Nash is the only reason why they're still sticking around. If it wasn't for KT getting injured, the lakers wouldn't stand a chance.
the suns just like last year's version are not a team for the playoffs.
Last year the Suns killed the Mavs in 6 and lost to the "championship" Spurs. Let me remind you they were without Joe Johnson up till the last two games, the only guy beside Nash who can create his own shot.

damn shame if Bell gets suspended (which he probably will since that clothesline was nasty).
But the Suns need him to clamp down on Kobe, not sure who would the Suns get to replace him....should be an interesting game 6 though.

If Bell get suspended, it will only be fair that Kobe is as well as Nash had mentioned with some strong aftergame words in the interview last night

nash has not brought his game up to another level at all in the playoffs and marion has been outplayed by counterparts on the lakers easily.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying that Nash and Marion are not doing anything though. That's a very shallow statement.
Both Kobe and Nash are awesome players to observe. Nash is upped his PPG in the playoffs so far and Kobe is upping his APG.
It's fun reading this, post more.
P.S.: I'm behind Nash in all this, don't mistaken that. =)

One person that I think has stepped up his game is Lamar Odom. He seems to be doing all the right things at the right time. Didn't do much during the regular season but he has stepped up, outplayed Marion and has gained the confidence of Kobe. Which is great.
Kwame too, has been a bright spot during this playoff series. The Suns don't really have anyone to handle him. I think they put Tim Thomas on him right ? In any case, he should be a decent centre as long as he continues to develop. (and he doesn't get arrested in this impending sexual assault allegation case)
I don't like the Lakers or Kobe but they seem to be peaking at the right time. Plus some of the shots Kobe takes, damn ! I hate his ballhogging play (during the regular season) but he is pretty unstoppable when he wants to be. A positive note is that he is gaining confidence in his teammates. So he is willing to dish it to his mates when the double-team comes etc.
Gilbo: You were making fun of Odom, Smush and Kwame during the regular season. You have to admit what you have seen out of those guys during this series has impressed you. Tell it like it is ! Come on !

a clueless person only thinks they themselves are right just because of the need to feed their ego.

well.. are you expecting Nash to post triple double numbers?.. Nash is doing what he can.. but you can't deny that Marion has been average at best.. and Odom and Kwame have stepped it up

Shawn Marion has done a solid job, but Lamar Odom would create a mismatch then.
The Suns didn't have much size to begin with, and now lose some more. It'll be hard for them to win Game 6 on the road.

What an embarassment for Bell, looks like a move by someone who wants to stop playing and take the ball home. Then he calls Kobe arrogant, this is the NBA lol.

All these $20 million guys are arrogant and spoiled. An insane salary.

Kobe shoved him earlier in the game and got nothing.
I hope the Nash and the Suns come back and eliminate the Rapist Kobe and the Lakers in 7

If that's the case, the triangle offense will be messed up, and all the stuff they have done right the previous 3 games before the last loss will go to waste. That will result in another loss and a tied series, something I hope will happen.

hard to say... if the suns don't have bell.. no one really to defend kobe... too bad kurt thomas and amare stoudemire are not there.. or they could have swept the lakers easily...

That's right rapist, keep scoring 50 points. See how far that gets you.
I thought Suns picking up Thomas was a really great move when they did it during the season..didn't think he'd fit in so well but he has been HUGE. Gotta love his blowing his hand right in front of the lakers bench

What a finish, I thought the suns were done 20 seconds to go, then to tie it up and deny kobe.. Awesome! Game 7 should be incredible, I can't wait.. It was mentioned Kurt Thomas might be ready in round 2, something to hope for..

What a game! Nash played awsome! He played a team game not like Kobe. I'd take a team player like Nash over a ball hog like Kobe anyday of the week. It was great to see Thomas hit those 3s and then wave his hand at the Lakers bench and then at the end slam the ball on the Lakers logo :D
GO NASH GO! GO SUNS GO!!! Bell will be back in Game 7 and hopefully the Suns take it. I can't wait to watch Game 7

Good to see Bryant becoming a bit rattled in the OT. Suns just need to keep playing an awesome game and let Bryant self-destruct.

You two guys should start a psychic line!
Props to you nano for your prediction, with Kobe scoring more than he ever has in a playoff game. And krocket, WOW. Absolutely bang on about how that totally messed up everything that made the Lakers so good recently.
Can't wait till game 7...

Oh yeah, and a little mistake in my game 4 rant. Apparently it was Diaw that called the unheard timeout, not Nash.
Gotta love his class (http://www.nba.com/suns/playoffs/tribune_060501.html):Nash said he slipped going after the ball and refused to say he was fouled on the play and “in those situations, those are tough calls to make.” But other Suns weren’t as gracious.
“This is a guy who’s the MVP last year, supposedly the MVP of this year and he can’t get a call?” Tim Thomas said. “You’re kidding. You guys see it better than we do, you know what happened.”

KoME shows his true self and throws in the towel as Suns abuse pathetic LA Lamers.
KoME is one of the few people in the league who makes his teammates' level of play deteriorate with his presence (not talking just stats, but effectiveness).

I was watching this game with a few friends and we all thought that something wasn't right with the Lakers/Kobe/Phil Jackson. Don't get me wrong, we're all ecstatic they got blown out but there seemed to have been a bigger issue behind why the Lakers lost. Perhaps Kobe got into an argument with the team? Or maybe with Phil? Maybe Kobe purposely threw the game?
I hate Kobe as much as the other haters here but I gotta admit on pure skill alone, there are none better. He was shooting 3's in the first half like they were simple layups. In the second half, he barely shot the ball. I wonder if 3 months from now we'll here the real truth of what happened last night in game 7 against the Suns.
