Went to office depot today and the manager said that the "Red Flag" site usually does this sort of thing and they would not honour it. All I said was I signed up from a bargain site. At first they thought it was US only but I mentioned that upon signup that it allowed for Canadianl ocation.
I pressured him and all he did was give me a public relations phone number, here it is: 1-800-937-3600. The guy was sweating like a pig and started to studder. Like I was holding up the place. What, was his job on the line if he gave me false information?

I just worried if this is legit or if they will be using my personal info for spam.

Yes it came to me a minute later. Which made me start to question its validity
Did you go there to redeem yet? Did they give you any guff saying it is not from Office Depot and just a deal scam like they said to me.
Still pee d off that they accused Red Flag (think he said it that way so to keep the site out of publics sight) of fabricating the signup website. I showed him the email and it clearly said it was from Flordia with the corporate office and phone number. I think he was scared that he would get fired because I was pushing it farther.
Then I am wondering why they asked for my address? They are not sending me anything. Could it be a phishing website for ad mailing. I could of entered in a phoney address.

Try emailing Office Depot Canada. There is a form that you can fill out on their website here (http://www.officedepot.ca/customerservice/input.do). Include the website address for the signup for the newsletter in your question to them. Ask them if it is legit and valid in Canada. And tell them in your email that the manager wasn't honouring it!!!
They'll email you back. If they tell you that it's legit, print it out, and go back to your Office Depot...Now you have proof from Office Depot Canada that the offer is valid.

You just need to give a valid e-mail address, nothing else matters.

Did anybody get the free CDs? It might not even be worth my time to go down there and get them since they are so damn cheap and useless.

^ "cheap" and "useless".
not to my knowledge...
cd-rs are more $$$ than dvds nowadays (most likely b/c of levy)
and i still use cd-rs for burning music for use in cd/mp3 players or in the car... (i guess u don't do any of that)

I use CDRs very rarely, but if I do I want them to be reliable. Still have 100 fuji from when I foolishly thought I could wait out the DVD+/- war.

I am going to try and get the CD-R's today. I don't need any but arguing with the manager will be fun if he's a prick. :)

EDIT : I believe this to be a spam site based on peoples experiance and my blatent distrust for 3rd party companies trying to do sales for 1st party retailers. I'll explain why i don't trust it below.
This is how you tell :
http://officedepot.postfuture.net/h...nup/default.asp
Look at : officedepot.postfuture.net
officedepot = Subdomain
postfuture = Domain
Postfuture = Is not Officedepot. And therefor not a legit site.
Any Domain can set an unlimited number of subdomains named whatever they want. This is how a lot of spammers get you, please remove the URL or delete this post to prevent future people signing up unknowingly.

This is a diffinite spam site, I recommend removing the link to prevent more people from signing up.
Not as simple as that. It is very common for buinesses to use third parties for marketing purposes.

yeah, nowadays the majority of ppl prbly burn dvds more often than cds considering that dvds are so much cheaper in terms $/disc and $/GB ...
back in the days when the dvd format was still relatively new, i remember goin thru 50 pk of cds in a mth...lol

Probably a YMMV freebie, cause I doubt people are snatching these up like mad at regular price... :|

this is not dead. It should be moved to a new forum for US deals (which I recommend) so dual citizens like me can use them :)
I got 2 coupons and will try them tomorrow. Thanks OP!

CPN #58837078 $OFF -9.99
You Pay 0.00
For those who got rejected, have the cashier try the coupon code.

too bad if MODs come by they'll almost definitely reject it...
like others mentioned, they'll prbly check to see if it's a CDN or US offer.
btw, congrats on the free pk of cd-rs :)

tried local OD. cashier typed in code and system did not recognize code.
manager came by and stated that coupon was forgery as OD does not send
coupons by email. also he found a site (not rfd) where there was the same link to the coupon as the original OP used. suffice to say my coupon was doa. >:(

In the US. Saw this same deal posted on fatwallet and US posters are claiming they're getting their free CDs too.
