50 Pack Sony 16X DVD+R DVD-R $19.92 MIR @ STOOPLES

Warm if you dont mind waiting for a MIR. Found a couple of DVD+R MIJ spindles hiding at the back of the shelf at my local Stooples the rest were MIT.

Has anybody seen 16x discs at any Staples (or other Canadian retailer) so far. I've just seen MIT 8x discs lately.

MIJ Sony 16x with the octagonal spacer will be Taiyo Yuden, but i wouldnt recommend 16x, id get 8x instead if they have any. Taiyo yuden 16x media (TYG03 -R, and YUDEN000T03 +R) is taiyo yuden's worst media by far... TYG02 and YUDEN000T02 is much better (8x).

if you dont want to deal with rebates, wal-mart has 8x 50pcs for 24.95 (everyday low price).

MIJ SONY16D1 and SONYD21 are pretty good.

I've used Sony media MIJ in the past, and i don't know too much about the codes or anything, but all i can say is the media is pretty good, no weird swirly marks on the bottom like other MIJ media, and haven't had an issue with it. In fact i just burned russell peter's comeny now! DVD onto it... Perfect...

Dual Layer media however at least for me, isn't too reliable from sony. Then again, we're talking SL

Sony DVDs seem to be very good but this is the usual sale price (50pk or 2-25pks) This time a rebate hassle ?

OP, perhaps u should indicate a MIR in title... not $19.92 exactly since ur paying taxes on the $12 MIR.

i suppose it's a deal since stooples easy rebates are pretty reliable (for most ppl)

but personally, i'd wait for some other retailer like WM or LD to drop it back down to $20/50 pk again (WM did have it once for a short period of time late last yr, and LD had it for like twice lasting for ~2wks each time in Jan/Feb.)
that way, don't have to deal w/ MIRs :)

FS/BB sometimes have the 25pks on sale for $9 or $10 (last time it was FS for $9 i think)

same deal -> $10/25 pk = $20/50 pk.

nothin wrong w/ the 25pks if u can find the MIJ ones...
