Home Depot is having such success with their Hammer Drop promotion that they've gotten some complaints about items selling out before the people from the West coast even get up.

So now they want to know what YOU think. What time of day should the Hammer Drop promotion start?

If you're not familiar with the Hammer Drop, you can check it out here:

I think 10 AM EST would be ideal for the Westerners, and the East Coast RFD'ers would still have the same chance to log in at that time, as they would be up.

I think they should have 2 items each day. 2 totally different ones. who gives a @#$ about a perforated wok. Never heard of anything that silly anyways. Each time, there should be at least one tool, perhaps the other can come from the lawn/garden section :D

I'd say 5AM EST. This way, everyone will have to do some work.

Are you speaking from experience having BBQ with a perforated wok or just just upping your post count.

tell HD to ensure some availability of the items....typically Dell and others have in some cases sold out at some point during the day for their specials ... :|

I love the 8am start time.. Works out perfectly.. I just check the site before I head to work..

I other option is that they release half of their stock at 8am EST and the second at 8am PST. That way everyone has access to it..

I think HD has done a great job with this promo so far! Hope it continues!!

A bit surprised that HD actually cares about when they start the hammer drop each morning. Whatever it is they put out there, it is sold in 1 or 2 hours anyway, they've cleared their merchandise and made their money.

they should have a set amount of product for each time zone...

that will be a waste of time for them to administrate

Just a quick note on the stock side, they do carry a fair amount of stock on these items. There were over 250 for the woks for example.

Who knew so many people shopped online on Easter sunday :)

I'm sure they could set it up so that it works that way and that seems to be the best solution.

First, I have to agree...get some tools on there.

Secondly, making half the stock available at 9am EST and the other half at 9am PST seems to make sense. Otherwise, they should pick a random time during the day...and risk killing their servers.

Make it fair... 6am EST.
That's when I get in to work... :)

I think 12:00EST would be fair to everyone.
