If we're working sunday the 16th, are we sopposed to get time and a half?

I ask because I'm working, apperently for regular pay. However, only our garden center and seasonal departments are open - something that occurs on those days we're sopposed to make time and a half.

anyone know?

I could be wrong, but I always thought holidays were payed double time if you were asked to work.

But for regular pay? I would tell them where to shove their potting soil

Easter Sunday is not considered a public holiday under the Employment Standards Act. See:

it's only double time and a half if you have a decent union or a nice company. By law they only have to pay 1.5.

yeah, thats what they said. But then, why are only the two departments open?

and I wasnt asked to work, I was offered. I'm off school monday, and these kinds of shifts are usually really easy because you can hardly do any work seeing as 3/4 of the store is closed :D

Part time usually does not get 1.5.

if you've been there for 3 months and its a stat holiday I think they still have to pay you 1.5

I get double time and a half for tomorrow because my union negotiated it, but by law I am not entitled to it. Although I'm not working tomorrow, but I will get double time and a half for my first day back to work, which is friday.
