Ok, so i've been told by a few people my room smells bad, i do take care of my personal hygiene and i never leave food lying around, nor do i do anything in my room that'll stink it up
my sis' room is right beside mine, and her room smells fine, only different thing we do is, she opens her windows all the time
i have decided to take tonight and "refresh" my room's air, i wish to make the process faster, so i am going to use a fan
here is the question that could potentially be very lame
Which way to I face the fan, air blowing OUT the window, or air blowing FROM the window
sorry if i have wasted a good 2 min of your life

Depending on the wind. If its blowing into your house, and your fan is blowing out, you are probably wasting energy. I would aim for out.

not much wind here
so out the window then?

Probably wise to put the fan facing towards the open window. So the fan could push some of the odor towards the window and out. You might have diabetes. If its a sweet smell, then it's signs of diabetes. If that's not it, use baking soda, and put it in your room. That should take all the smell out.

Did you leave any dirty laundry around?
I suppose you can use air fresheners or febreeze but that is a temporary solution. Opening the windows often will help, get some fresh air in but dont do it on smog days. I am in a similar situation as you and I have tried numerous solutions trying to fix the problem. I found out the problem were some cardboard boxes and some old projects. I have since removed them but the smell is still there. The end result was not expected. I got a deep hole in my wallet spending all that dough on air fresheners http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/images/icons/icon8.gif
I have learn to live with the smell in my room. its a part of my life now

Walmart sells 2 packs for $6 lol buy in bulk and save.
A squirt of cologne on your blankets & opening the window a crack & leaving it open all day should do the trick too. or winners sells linen spray, which is just a bottle of scented spray that gets into your sheets to keep them fresh.
Guys tend to just use soap, girls tend to use more fruity or floral washes & shampoo's, thats why your room just smells like sleep sweat & drool & lack of air keeps it sealed in like a nasty fart in a can. lol
Also make sure you throw your "kleenex" out everyday, don't let it sit in the trash can in your room that stuff stinks after a while ;)
Or you can just go with a fresh coat of paint on your walls & shampoo your carpet, or pinesol wood floors & add a little extra scented fabric softner to your bedding laundry, & you get a fresh start. :)

You wear clothes?
You just shattered all my thoughts of you in a thong all day lounging around.
Besides how many thongs do you own? they are quite small, so your pile can't be that big ;) I guess thats why you only need to open the window a crack?

Oh yea Honest Eds have those Axe colognes spray for 2.99 so you can use that. I also believe that washing your linen often can cut down on the smell.
Then there are those carpet steam cleaners at grocery stores that you can rent for like $30 dollars if I remembered correctly for a weekend to clean your capets. You might have to buy the capet cleaning solution.
But when I'm at home...
I hope you don't cook while you are in your birthday suit..

My room smells too! And I found the problem. Fish tank has been leaking over the past few days. The carpet and wood spike strips were rotting.

SOMEONE's h0rny
I can't tell if my room smells any better tho, cuz a person can't really smell a smell that they are used to, so i can't smell the bad smell that my room had even if it's still present
o well, i guess i'll just do what i can and hope for the best that my room smells fine

okay.
What are you doing in your room? c'mon?
Leave your door room open and don't go in your room for a few days and see if it smells. fans = hide the smell.

i dunno what stinks up my room man
i think it's just cuz idon't open windows tho, cuz after my fan-ventilat-athon last night, it's true, i can smell the difference, but i'm still curious, did my room really smell that bad before? does "stuffiness" really grow into a smell that smells that bad? (well my room is kinda living proof to the answer of this question - yes)

depends where you live, got animals? Sometimes certain animals like to come visit your house and hide their poop somewhere so they wont get in trouble.
Take a picture of your room.......
Come on, it will be so fun, it will be like an investigation online.

If you can smell the difference it was pretty bad. Most people can't smell their own odor. My 13 year old son gets this being holed up in friggin room all the time.
Open your windows
Try to keep your door open
Keep your dirty laundry in a different room
CHANGE YOUR SHEETS ONCE A WEEK!(and pillowcases, etc) Wash your blankets minimum once a month.
Spray febreeze every few days.
Seriously...do this, and unless you really stink you should have no probs getting rid of it.

Don't forget to open another window somewhere else, probably on the otherside of the house. You're not going to get much airflow if there's only one window open. It's great on a warm and breezy day to open all the doors and all the windows, it'll move more air than any fan would.

Could just be stale air with whatever other odors trapped in there....
so you get the smell out yet?

but sigh..............i think i regret opening my windows.........cuz.....

If you don't change your sheets and pillowcases at least once a week it will get stinky even if you shower before bed.
Is there anything else you put your head on that you're not thinking of? like if you sit sideways in a chair and rest your head on the arm, etc.
How about the laundry hamper? Don't let it collect more than two days if you have any clothes that you were uh, 'active' in.
Last idea is not to keep the door shut 24/7. Lots of teens keep it shut for privacy whether or not they are in the room but you need to open it up when you can...say 6 hours a day.
If other people are telling you your room smells funny, then it probably does so good on you to take it seriously.
