I understand this is a noOb question but i still need someone to ask nonetheless. I got a 200gb IDE hd im going to hookup in my comp. Its got 120 gigs of data on it, and i want to use it as my core drive, so ill be installing windows on it. My question is whether it will format or delete the data in the process. Just a quick yes or no will be more then appreciated :)

if you do nothing and try to install windows on it, it will reformat the drive (erasing all the data on it.)

however, if you repartition your drive you can install Windows to a diff partition and keep existing data on the drive as well as windows.

if you are not very computer savvy you might just want to back up the data, do the windows install and put the old data back onto the drive.

hope this helps.

partition magic, after u partion make sure you remember which partion is empty and instal windows there.
