The battery life on my new refurbished (non-Photo) iPod is pretty sucky. I've had it for 2 weeks, and the longest it lasts on a charge is 4-6 hours. Mind you, this is 4-6 hours spread out over 3 days. Does sleep mode drain that much from it, or is this just a crappy battery?
What should I do?

A new refurb? Doesn't really make sense, but okay.
Don't know Apple's policy for refurbs, but check into that.
If not, check the stores return policy that you got it from.

If there's no warranty on it then refurbs aren't guaranteed to have optimal battery life.

I'll check with Apple if their warranty covers this. Honestly, I don't think the iPod is refurbished - it's likely Apple just has a ton of the 4Gs lying around and wants to clear them out. I think the only "refurbished" item was the AC adapter - it was lightly scratched and scuffed. The software on the iPod was old, and it came with iTunes 4. I'm sure the battery has just been lying around dormant for a few years since it was manufactured.
