we have a spare room with a TV inside and all this tv has connected to it is an old dvd player, i don't want to begin drilling holes through walls to pass a cable wire, so im asking if its possible to send a signal through a wireless connection and also maintaining the ability to change channels?

The recent 'Slingbox' that's being sold in many places seems to send tv signals over wireless internet. You might want to see if this is something that could work for you.

Can't recall the details but I thought there was technology to use your electrical outlets to transfer the analog signal.

I have something similar, but more small and it doesn't come with a remote. Instead it comes with a infrared bypass that will pickup your remote control signals and relay it to the homebase which will be plugged into a satelite system, vcr, dvd, tv, etc.

Quality is good, distance is not very great. Don't expect to send the signal all the way across an entire house.
