Well last year when I worked downtown Toronto I used to eat out a lot. I visited quite a few places mostly the usual i.e Pizza Pizza, Piza Hut, Dominos etc. However I found a place closer to where I worked and I would have to say it's the best place I have had pizza. It's called Amato's and I am sure some or many of you have eaten there. I don't think there are any locations close to the Halton region though :( Has anyone else eaten there I would like to know if you know of any other places that compare. Or even what's your favourite pizza place :)

Here's my pizza ranking list:

Amato's
Domino's (thin Crust)
Pizza Pizza
Little Ceasars
Pizza Hut
Gino's

Well that's my 2 cents If you haven't tried Amato's I would highly recommend it :)

I've never tried Amato's, but as for 'bigname/ commercial chain' pizza places, I hate pizza pizza... it tasts so bland.

My ranking is:
1. Pizza Hut! :P (oily, but tastes great)
2. Pizza Nova
3. Domino's
4. Little Caesars
100. Pizza Pizza

i like kenny's ranking better. pizza pizza is terrible stuff and is only fit for poor university/college students :) i love pizza hut but it is certainly greasy.

i'm sure some of the smaller mom and pops have better pizza.

Never been there, but I've seen a couple around. Whenever I'm in the Eaton Centre area, I try to stop at Big Slice for their, well, big slices! I used to love it when I was younger, by now do it out of "tradition". I've got to try Amato sometime, there's one near College and Yonge.

Never tried Amato's, but the best thin crust pizza I've had in Toronto would have to be Spacco's on Yonge Street. I fell in love with thin crust pizza when I was in Italy back in 2000. I've been on a mission ever since to find a *good* wood-fired brick oven thin crust pizza here in Ontario. Spacco's so far is leading the race, but if you know of any other contenders, please let me know! :D

For Delivery I always order from Pagago their Chicken And Pineaple Plus Bacon is Fablous.

Costco also sells these huge ass pizza made by Kirkland that are even better then panago pizzas.

I love New Orleans pizza too, but I find it is inconsistent from franchise to franchise. The one in Stratford is the one I know and love, but I tried the one in Brantford, and it left me disappointed. Good pizza, and not greasy at all.

I gotta say..
for a place that has "Pizza" in its name..I sure wasn't impressed with Boston Pizza.. their ribs are nothing special either.. I say the location near my house wasted space that could have been taken by...hmm..McDonalds..(even though there is one next door)

Boston Pizza's pizzas aren't bad, but considering how much we ended up paying (this was a few years ago in BC), we were expecting more

I love Pizza Pizza... but you have to know how to get your pizza from them for it to be good ;)

Anyways... my question is whether anyone has ever had pizza from a place called Classico Pizza (I think that's what it's called... it might be Louie's Classico Pizza) in downtown Toronto? I was at a small gathering that a former co-worker had at his appartment.... and he brought this pizza from there and it was gourmet pizza... and it was incredible. But I can't find any info on this place... I am assuming that it is in the Bloor/Yonge area. Anyone have info on it?

Pizza Pizza is the worst...they always stinge on the toppings. 80% of the pizza in Toronto is not a real complete pizza; its just a crust with crappy toppings.

Try some pizza in Chicago, NYC...most of Toronto pizza's don't even compare.

Cora's was pretty good during my UofT days...but now...the only thing that is adible is the local Pizza Nova (at Midland and St.Claire) not bad. At least the pizza maker looks Italian. (No offense taken)

(Yes I know real Italian pizza is nothing like North American fast food pizza, but its like having asian cuisine at Milestones...ie the "stirfry" meal)

For fast food, my vote goes for Pizza Hut, then Dominos, then Papa John's then Boston Pizza.

But as for my favourite pizza, if you're ever in Calgary, you gotta try The Wicked Wedge on 17th Ave... who would have thought artichoke hearts on pizza would be good?

but the pizza kinda tastes awful...(well not awful, but it's very bland, as someone stated.) the only thing they've got going for them is that synthetic garlic dip LOL :D

Amatos is good...Pizza hut too

though i'd rather save the cash and buy from a mom/pop store, since i'm not that much a fan of pizza

Hello All,

:!: I feel it my duty to warn all of you of Amato's Pizza.
They might be fine eats, but their employees get a real beating.

There are currently dozens, and I do mean dozens, of Amato employees, and
ex-employees who have not been paid for months for their work at this sleazy pizza chain. The owners of Amatos Toronto are currently under investigation for fraud, exploitation of their workers, and breaching of workers rights. There have been several very large protests outside of Amatos in Toronto in the last weeks. There are several Amato employees (and I'm talking higher-ups, not shift workers), who are owed thousands of dollars in back pay and severance (ie two former Amato workers are owed $10,000 and $15,000 respectively).

Injury claims against this employer have also fallen to the wayside. I have seen many Amato workers leave the stores scarred on their arms from boiling pots and unsafe working practices.

DO NOT BUY PIZZA AT AMATOS HUNDREDS OF TORONTO CITIZENS HAVE JOINED IN PROTEST TO PROTECT WORKERS RIGHTS. AS Toronto citizens, you have a right to know. Please respect the rights of your fellow young workers, and boycott this sleazy and unjust company.

Thank you,

A concerned fellow Torontonian.

Anyone from Winnipeg knows that Gondola Pizza (they have 4 or 5 locations) have by far the best thin crust pizza ever made.

I used to like Mothers Pizza are they still around?

For the chains, Pizza Hut is delicious but pretty pricey, I'll take Dominos. In SK they currently have a pick up special any day of the week...a large (actually a large, not a small on a menu that says large ex large and jumbo) with one topping for $7.99.

It is a nice pickup on the way home from work.

WHAT no way pizza pizza is not even fit for univ students ... maybe drunk students but give us a little credit .. small pizza bistro or a tie between Pizza Hut a toronto Dominos(not this Windsor cardboard **** they give us) and Boston Pizza FTW

Infact, I love pizza so much, my Favourite song is "We're Going to Eat Pizza" by Venga Boys.

Terroni's for sit-down.

Pizza Nova (thin crust, well done) or Il Paesano for delivery/take-out.

Not a big fan of the greasy 'zas (Pizza Hut/Dominoes).

i work at pizza hut
the only reason the pizza so crazily greasy is cuz we put 10 tablespoon of oil in the pan, top it and then bake it.

Also the new pizza we are offering the 3 cheese explosion isn't that great. and expensive for 16.99 for a large 1 topping. Not worth purchasing. Its oddly very salty. If you want a betetr tasting pizza at pizza hut. Order greek on thin and crispy. Its low in calories, and so much more healthier. I work the buffets in pizza hut so i pretty much get unlimited amount of pizza to eat if I wanted to. I choose not to cuz its just too much to handle. =p
