The rear end of the "New Civic" makes me want to punch someone.

EDIT: No! It's a Saturn with a Honda emblem on it.

yeah the base model is like $14,000 with nothing
then when you add the package for air,abs etc it comes to like $22,000 with taxes

I thought I read in the Toronto star Auto section that all model trims of the fit came with the 6 airbags and ABS standard. Better read it again cause this is what i felt differed with the Fit from the Yaris which does not have the 6 airbags and has ABS as optional.

Fit is said to be the number one seller in Japan too so price gouging in Canada is guaranteed due to limited quantities available and high demand by Honda Hoze.

I don't see the appeal of the appearance packages myself.

But like the comparible Yaris, the Fit with AC is dangerously close to Vibe/Matrix pricing, especially since there may be some bargaining room on the Vibe.

That's because you're paying 2k+ for overpriced "genuine" Honda accessories. Granted, even without them, it's still quite expensive.

It's also Top Gear's favorite small hatchback. They had the 3 presenters' moms test some small cars and the Jazz was the favorite.

I read that stuff as well in the Toronto Star Wheels section, and they stated that that's exactly what differentiates it from the Yaris. With the Yaris you have to buy option packages with a bunch of stuff you may not want just to get 6 airbags and ABS, whereas with the Fit, those are standard even on the base model for an MSRP of $14,980.

I wouldn't go for the Sport model, there's too much random stuff in that package so I don't see the sense in optioning up the fit to that level.

I would go for the LX with a manual transmission. It has Air Con, ABS, and six airbags, power locks, windows, mirrors, and the only accessories I would get are the keyless entry and maybe the alloys, although they're a bit pricey and you might be able to get your own nice looking alloys for that price. Only thing I might miss is the cruise control but that's not really a necessity for everyone.
