Audigy 2 Zs Platinum Software help

Hi guyz ...

Unfortunately I lost the CD for Audigy 2 ZS platinum. Now, when I reimaged the PC, couldn't install the full software as stupid Creative has only updates and not the actual software bundle.

Ne idea of ne link I can download the actual Creative Software Bundle which has all THX console etc ? Only then I might be able to update the drivers. Because when I try to install the update, it gives me the error that I dont have the neccessary hardware. Ne help will be appreciated.

try contacting their customer support. perhaps something little this they'll just send you a free replacement cd.

You are _SO_ wrong about expecting a free replacement from Creative for this.

I had a huge rant in another thread

The same god damn thing happened to me with my ZS like a year ago, and they flat out REFUSE to help you with any software until you mail them VIA registered (expensive!) mail a 15.00 USD Money Order/Cheque and your receipt.

It is an absolutely horrendous process, and they have NO offices in Canada. Registered mail to the USA isn't exactly cheap..

What did I do? Politely told the CSR on the phone to go F*** himself, and proceeded to do some research.

What you want to google is 'kx audio drivers'

Much better than the stock bloatware Creative Labs cheese, and 50x more configurable. Definitely what the AudioPhile would want to use.

wow, that's pretty crappy service from Creative. well to the OP, just do it the cheesy way - buy the same card from a FS/BB, burn the cd, and then return it. ;)

Yeah ... I wanted to do that too. but then it'll be loss to them as they'd have to sell the card as OPEN BOX. I didnt wanna do that till the last option.

Question ... I wonder how THX and EAX would work on it. Also, the effects like stereo, stereo x 2, Dolby Movie and Dolby Music doesn't work from the Logitech Z5500s that I got. The onyl thing that works is 6 Ch Direct option from speakers. I wonder if there is an update ?

Thanx a bunch ... tried out this mod and turned my Aud2 to Aud4. Also, remote and mic works fine :D
