for the love of god, please add a $10 exhaust fan to that case please.

How'd you find the 805 performance?

Proformance is great!

I don't need to add a case fan. The system stays cool as it is. Even overlocked to 2.93gHz, the CPU and mainboard temps are constantly 31-32 dC

Well, he is selling it!

The fact that I'm selling it has nothing to do with its proformance. This was a digital audio workstation and our studio has moved on to a Tascam X48 workstation. Thus there is no need for this system.

Yep, I'd add a 120mm color-LED rear exhaust fan just for effect. :)

http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=536&l1=3&l2=11&l3=194

I think you should say dual core because a lot of people don't know P-D 805 and conclude it's the same crap as the loud-s s478 P4 running at 65-ish 'C. I know it's a good budget dual core chip. The 30-ish'C temp is identical to that of an AMD64 chip.

Is the stock CPU fan loud under load?

The 805's are actually known to run quite cool compared to the others. I'd also bet that the cpu's got a lot more left in it.

The stock CPU fan is not that loud at all. The PSU fan is louder. And the hard disks are quiet also.

Here's some pics of temp and such.

Agreed, I just built one of these for a relative ... runs very well, cool. I doesn't need an exhaust to stay cool. But that's because I built it with an on board x300 video. If I had a video card in there, I'd definately put an exhaust.

Hmmm, dual core 805 must be something. For an aircooled cpu ( with stock hsf too ), it rans cooler than the mobo. Gotta get me one to play with :) Bump for you.

Doesnt the CPU usually run hotter than the MB?
I'm thinking those temps are on bootup / after its been running for some time then shutdown and restarted. The MB is still warm and the CPU took less time to cool and its just starting up again.

Depends on where the mobo temp sensor is. If that sensor is around/attached to VRM's, you could very well have a mobo that runs hotter than the cpus. On my PC-DL I have the procs at 22*C and the mobo is at 37*C.
