I have the stick Shark Vaccum, paid 90$ 2 years ago when it never came on sale, although I see it comes on sale often lately.

Overall, it is a decent vacuum for small appartments. One thing that is great is that it takes us so little space in the closet. However, because the head is small, you have to consider that you cover less space with each stroke, which means ultimately that it takes a little longer for you to vacuum then with a vacuum with big head (which is why this is best for appartments rather than large house)

I only have 2 issues with this vaccum:

1) does not work well on hard non-carpeted flooring (i.e. tiles or linolium). It works okay on these surfaces but not that great (fine in the kitchen but very crappy in the entrance where there is lots of dirt from shoes)

2) the opening clogs very easily. I need to unclog it twice every time I vacuum my small appartment (then again, I have long hair). It only takes a second to unclog but it's still a pain, especially when I forget and then realize all my vacuuming effort was wasted because the vacuum was clogged and not sucking.

Overall, I would say this vaccum is not worth the 90$ I paid for it, but for 30$ I would say it's a decent deal.

If you are in appartment, want to use it mostly on carpet and don't have anyone with long hair living in the appartment then it iwould be fine.

I am debating to whether buy that work table or hold out for the folding one.

I got this back in December and I keep the multitool in my pocket, and comes in handy quite often. The knife is descent, but it can get jammed open and is a bit dangerous trying to fix it because the blade is pretty sharp. The lighter is nice and the 3 things light up when you go to use it, but you have to fill it yourself. Im not sure where to begin to get it filled, hehe. and the sports watch thing is garbage, its all plastic and the battery was pretty much dead when I got mine. And the small utility knife thing is nice, but im not sure I trust it in my pocket, hehe.

For the price, this is a nice set, and a nice gift idea, hehe.

i've got this set too, and love the small multi tool and the folding utility knife... Only problem, where to get replacement blades for the thing. That stopwatch is cheap and for months I couldn't figure out where the damn beeping in the house was coming from, but one night I got up and followed the sound to this thing in a drawer, with the alarm set for 1 am!

Hehe, I dont smoke and this is the first lighter that ive technically bought, hehe. So I dont know much about them. Only thing it would be good for for me is for camping. Hmm, wonder if I can ebay it, hehe.

So you can buy the butane in walmart or canadian tire? Is it easy/not messy to do? About how much is a bottle? hehe

Well, assuming the lighter will keep working for a while, you can buy a big can of butane for cheap (not sure of the exact price, but it's cheaper than buying the disposable lighters).
If you're not a smoker, you're probably not going to be using the lighter that much, so you might as well just buy a Bic disposable lighter - a lot easier than refilling.

I like this item for $5.99. Very handy to have in a power outage:

Maybe I'll get 2 of them.
By the way, a super post of Canadian Tire specials again! :) :) :)

Yup thanks for the post. Anybody know if this light leaves the other plug (of a duplex receptacle) open for use? The one I have now covers the second plugin which is a PIA.

You can buy this splitter in any dollar store for one buck (some of them sell it for $1.50 or $2.00)
http://images.canadiantire.ca/media/images/AroundtheHouse/Electrical/CordsPowerBars/PowerBars/0521568_450_CC_1a509.jpg

I use them in many outlets, they resolve the problem of covered receptacles.

Or, buy this 5 piece power station (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6669915&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442459167&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395438793&bmUID=1143168095012&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true) from this post, and it will give you even more items you can use to split the power :-)

Also, this JobMate Work Table (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6669771&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442307435&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bmUID=1143776246354&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true) is also $9.99. I'd post the picture and description, but it's on sale practically every other week so everyones seen it right ?

I originally picked up two of those at $19.99 and later exchanged them when the
Mastercraft ones (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444189 7943&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=2534374303517562&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=2534374303517566&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=1408474396669771&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474396669771&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bmUID=1143820662748) went on sale for the same price. Feature-wise, the MC table has two steps, the fixed platform moves by rachet-action, and (I think) supports up to 300lbs. Then again, it's much more expensive.

Again, I'm not a Jobmate fan, but I couldn't find anything wrong with it... at $9.99 who's to complain?

I personally find that major brands have more problems with burned DVDs , VideoCDs etc then Citizen/Magnasonic/Koss/Electrohome/Zenith etc.
(Well, LG is an exception I guess - it is still good major brand that plays pretty much everything).

Although you may run into some reliability issues at some point, it is worthwhile to get it for that price.

For any karaoke lovers - this is certainly the best deal on Karaoke DVD player you can get, and it is one of the best prices on DVD player even without karaoke.

Considering CT great return policy and over the counter exchange warranty policy, you will be safe.

Also confirming MJM statement - certainly no DIVX support.

If it had one - the deal would be RED HOT! :)

Does anyone have this folding workbench? It seems like a good deal and would be perfect to stick on the end of my single-car garage.

I picked up 2 tonight. Plan on building a garage soon and these seem like a great idea.

For 50$ it seemed well worth it.

I think I will open both up to ensure not too much damage (Lately everything I buy has more damage on average then previous purchases. And al these boxes seemed really beat up at my location) and all the parts are there. Hopefully I have the time to post more details.

Couple of things to note so far:
The web site does not give dimensions and neither does the box that I *quickly* looked for - Very wierd. The box dimensions were decent enough so I took the chance.
The box is quite long. It barely fit in the backseat of my Buick Century which is a pretty big car by todays standards. Keep this in mind if planning to purchase.
The items is not that heavy. Granted there is not much "heavy steel" in it just the legs, but I would have thought it would be heavier given the size of the box.
As the web site mentions you get 20 pins for the tool board.
The circle on the left hand side of the table in the picture is a metal insert so that you can hammer out things without damaging the wood.
Unless you have 2 people I would not try to get this yourself. I would get an associate to get a dolly or flatbed to help you out. You could lift it out yourself, it's not too bad. But why bother. But if you are buying other stuff or more then one like me it is definatly not the best idea.

BTW thanks for the thread readers that answered the call for help on the cdn tire dolly I bought. I now have the sequence but need a second person to try and squeeze everything together. Not enough room on the rod to get the second wynch pin in  Should be done by the weekend, when soemone drops by

I bought the Peerless $65 kitchen faucet....how exciting.

It's actually reasonably well made with lifetime warranty. Only issue I have is that the handle has a cutout in it, and the inside edge is sharp....I can picture myself somehow jamming a finger in it and cutting myself badly. I don't think that is a likely occurence though. I guess we'll see how good the finish is over time....I noticed that a friend's nickel finished faucet from costco, unknown brand, was somehow bubbling up on the surface (like a clearcoat was coming off) after only 2 years.

Thanks for the compliment. Thanks for your thread and to the owner of the other "flyer scan threads". After moving , I was in limbo not getting flyers and hard a hard time getting signed up. So the threads were life savers ... well not exactly but you know what I mean

As for starting my own thread... probably not  I just put a couple of posts in threads where I think I can help out, or need help myself.

As for the dolly I bought, if anyone else has problems putting it together due to lack of space to fit everything on the steel rod, my Dad was over and came up with a solution. Grind down one of the steel rod holders on the dolly a smidge. Gave me the few cm's I needed to assemble it. Ain't dad's great :cheesygri Oh and even better ... I used the Grinder I got cheap a few weeks ago from CDN tire to fix the dolly I got from them

As for the hanging Tool table, I have not looked into them yet as I have been under the weather the last few days. I would still say if you look at how ridiculous storage stuff is these days (closets, plastic containers) for 50$ to hold a bunch of tools, and a work table, for 50$ .... w/o opening it yet I still say it is a steal. If of course you are looking for this functionality in your garage.

I also picked up the spade. For 6$ and change you can't go wrong. Good for summer, but handy in winter to get rid of ice and packed snow without damaging the walkway. I believe it is a wood shaft, which I prefer over composite.

I picked up a saw blade for under 2$ for my Dad. Not a huge sale because for some reason the regular price was only 6$ or something. But for this price why not load up?

Anyone find a free shipping code?

Everytime I go to the Store they can't find the stuff on sale.

I mentioned this one week. It can take me forever to get all the stuff I want in CDN tire. I think they don't want people like me, that go in and buy a ton of stuff, all of it on sale. I think they spread stuff out and move stuff so you buy regular priced items as you go around.

At my CDN tire they have the flyers up front and write the aisle the stuff is in on it. But I am there first day of sale and half the stuff is not where they say it is.

I usually end up grabbing an associate. And sometimes the sale items (Like router bits) were in a glass case, on the floor of the case. As in NO WAY I would have found that.

So basically, look around, and ask. And if they don't see any, ask them to check on computer (takes 30 seconds) there may be some in the back. And most the sale stuff you can always get rainchecks, good for 30 days I think.

I love the sales, and with the money I have saved the last few months really can't complain. I have to admit I do get frustrated and want to walk out some weeks. Just stick with it! And get the cheap stuff!
