I just called up the help line in order to access My Account and see the status of my tax refund, and the person helping me told me that they still had my old address from 2 years ago on file. I found this curious seeing as last year I filed it using the correct address and received it at the right address, and this year I filed it using the correct address as well....However the person wasn't able to tell me whether or not my tax refund for this year would be sent to my current address which has got me a little worried. Does anyone know if the refund is sent to the address marked on the tax return or the one they have on file? And if they do send it to the wrong address what are my options here? At this point I've gotten my provincial refund over a week ago, and I filed the federal more than 2 weeks ago which is why I'm beginning to wonder...

Thanks for any help...

Did you E-file/Netfile?

Why not direct deposit into your bank account? This avoids any mailing address issues.

I recently called CRA and asked them if I need to change my address.

The rep told me there is no need if you are doing a paper return. They will update it to the one you input in the top left hand corner of your tax return. If you are netfiling/telefiling then they won't update your address and you will need to inform them.

Were you mailed a netfile code to your current/correct address?

If not, then likely your address was wrong from the beginning.. as brought up already, to netfile you need to correct the address BEFORE submitting the tax return.

Also, direct deposit is the ideal situation.
