I've always when opening up such items kept that lid on until recently. Making sure I tear it off properly the first time so I don't ruin it. Then making sure to leave on that last bit so it can always go back down nicely. All that effort in lining it up under the hard lid each time I put the ice cream back, or the yoghurt or whatever else...
hehe., So about a month ago I thought...isn't that inner lid just an extra measure of freshness and preservation until the customer gets it? Shouldn't the lid itself be sufficient once opened. Frankly how long could you be keeping it? Gotta say, the items I listed don't stick around much in my house :cheesygri.
So anyway, now my ice cream, cream cheese, yoghurt etc all tubs have their inner lids completely off, and I just use the hard plastic lid...so far so good.
If there's some magical powers laden in that flimsy cover that I've prematurely thrown away-LET ME KNOW
